Often known as the “Google guy,” Eric Schmidt has made a name for himself in business and tech for his entrepreneurship and overseeing a vast expansion of Google’s activities. He served as the CEO of Google from 2001 to 2011, executive chairman of Google from 2011 to 2015 and executive chairman of Alphabet Inc. from 2015 to 2017.

Aside from now working as technical adviser, Schmidt has released three books over five years, all exploring the fundamentals of success in Silicon Valley and the new digital age. In a 2011 interview with The Atlantic, Schmidt said that he mostly consumes magazine subscriptions and Google News, of course. When it comes to books, he’s big on non-fiction and he also reads The New York Times and Wall Street Journal every day. We’ve put together a list of thought-provoking and informative books that Schmidt has recommended in the past.
