As the world continues to innovate around NFTs and related technology, so do the brands and businesses who see the potential in the tech.

This week has cemented that statement even further as we discovered that the NFL will be releasing their own NFTs. Furthermore, Macy’s will be launching their own Thanksgiving Parade Balloon NFTs. Also, we will discuss the ConstitutionDAO and the current state of the US Constitution.

If you’re just tuning into our NF3 Recap, be sure to check out our last edition.

1. NFL NFTs are now available to collect

The NFL announced that they will be offering fans digital commemorable tickets in the form of NFTs, via the Polygon sidechain. The digital tickets will only be offered with the purchase of select NFL game tickets.

Fans will receive their NFL NFT tickets in their Ticketmaster Digital Wallet. Ticketmaster will automatically create a digital wallet for fans that will store any NFTs they receive on the marketplace, in their wallet.

On Thursday, the NFL also distributed its first batch of commemorative NFTs via Ticketmaster with the help of Polygon, which includes 125 distinct souvenirs for each of the league's 32 clubs.

Furthermore, in September, the NFL announced its partnership with Dapper Labs to develop its own NFT collectible marketplace on the Flow blockchain. The marketplace is planned to launch during the current NFL regular season, which concludes on January 9.

It’s fun to see how the NFL is attempting to broaden its reach to consumers by offering them new and innovative ways to interact with the sport and their favorite teams.

2. Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade drops their own NFT

Macy’s is capturing the joy and excitement of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on the blockchain, by creating a collection of parade-themed balloon NFTs available to mint for free on November 25th, Thanksgiving day.

There will be 9500 of these historical NFTs available total and will be offered on Sweet’s NFT marketplace built on Polygon as well. Although the NFTs will be free to mint, 10% of the resale profits will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

This means you can feel good knowing you’re getting a free NFT collectible on an environmentally friendly sidechain, and you’re helping a good cause if you decide to resell your Macy’s NFT.

The NFT collection will feature many of the popular balloons seen in the parade, dating all the way back to the 1920s. Additionally, Macy’s will also auction off 10 Ultra Rare NFTs from Nov 19 to Nov. 30, with all the proceeds going to Make-A-Wish.

Make sure to catch the Thanksgiving Day Parade televised on NBC starting at 9 a.m. (ET) on Thanksgiving Day.

3. ConstitutionDAO raises $40M in an effort to buy the US Constitution

The word is spreading quickly! The ConstitutionDAO successfully raised over $40 million in a matter of only 72 hours in an effort to buy an original copy of the US Constitution. This is the greatest crowdfund for a tangible item ever, speaking for both cryptocurrency and cold-hard cash.

Despite the ConstitutionDAO and its’ 17,437 donors, they were not able to purchase the US Constitution. Although the auction concluded at $43.2 million, which is less than the $49.5 million raised by the ConstitutionDAO, the estimated cost of insurance, storage, auction fees, and delivery, among several other expenses, barred the DAO from bidding any higher.

The winner was unveiled Friday afternoon as hedge fund billionaire, Ken Griffin.

Those who invested in the DAO will be able to receive a pro-rata refund (essentially minus gas fees) via Juicebox. More information from the ConstitutionDAO is expected very shortly.

Other cool stuff

Hold on, that’s not all that has occurred over the past week. There is still some other cool stuff that we can’t forget to mention!

As a means of thanking its faithful supporters, the Dallas Mavericks are giving out NFTs! The Mavs NFTs were released earlier this month by the basketball franchise. These fan tokens, according to Mark Cuban, may be collected, purchased, or traded.

Fans who want to get their hands on these fantastic Mavericks NFTs may do so when they purchase a game ticket from the Dallas Mavericks store.

In other interesting news, a new website has made headlines by offering thousands of NFTs accessible for free to download. In a tribute to the pirate site The Pirate Bay, The NFT Bay has compiled a massive collection of images of NFTs in an attempt to demonstrate the silliness of the NFT bubble.

Keep in mind that this site doesn't actually give your ownership of an NFT, it simply supplies the images from popular NFTs, to download.

That’s all we have for today. Thanks for sticking with us and we will see you again next week!
