Our 10 Favorite Kyrie Irving Sneakers

10 of Kyrie's best kicks.

GRAFFITI MOBILE 1
GOAT/ Michael Caloca ONE37pm

As you all know, yesterday was Kyrie Irving’s birthday, so we figured that it would be dope to put together a list of Kyrie’s best signature shoes as a belated birthday tribute. One could make the argument of Kyrie potentially having the most popular signature shoe out of all the current players in the league, and Kyrie himself is not only known for his impeccable shoe game, but also for the time, attention, and detail he puts into his colorways.

A progressive thinker who's never afraid to put his money where his mouth is and stand firm in what he believes in, Kyrie has that exact same mindset when it comes to his sneaker designs. From the vibrant colors and patterns to stepping out and designing a silhouette meant solely for women, Kyrie’s shoes are the embodiment of who he is: bold, courageous, and powerful.

With so many options to choose from, it was hard to narrow down our favorites, but we managed to put together a list of some of Kyrie’s best shoes. Check it out and let us know what you think!

1. Nike Kyrie 2 Low Spongebob Mr Krabs

Nike Kyrie 2 Low Spongebob Mr Krabs / GOAT

Release Date: August 10th, 2019

No matter how old you get, you should never outgrow the inner child in you. Kyrie’s affinity for Spongebob Squarepants was certainly in full effect a couple of years ago with the release of the ‘Mr. Krabs’ colorway. Designed to literally look like Mr. Krabs, the shoe debuted in August 2019 to positive reviews amongst fans and is still selling frequently. The University Red mixed in with the metallic blue, gives the shoe a beautiful appearance, and there is an image of a splattered Plankton on the side of the sneaker. A fun ‘blast from the past’ that takes us back to the glory days of when life was much more simple.

Of note: Kyrie has additional Spongebob Squarepants colorways based on Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, and Spongebob’s pineapple house.

2. Nike Kyrie 6 Concepts Khepri

Kyrie 6 Concepts Khepri / GOAT

Release Date: January 2019

The ‘Concepts’ were released during Kyrie’s stint with the Boston Celtics. Teaming up with Boston-based sneaker boutique Concepts, Kyrie dropped these 6s in January 2019. The name of the shoe is in reference to the Egyptian God Khepri Ra, who represents the moving sun, and the scarab beetle pays tribute to ancient hieroglyphics. The bright pink upper and blue overlays give the shoe an ‘exotic’ appearance, and the shoe is one of Kyrie’s best releases to date.

3. Nike Kyrie 6 90s

Nike Kyrie 6 90s / GOAT

Release Date: June 2020

Born in 1992, Kyrie pays homage to an era that was all about explosive colors and streetwear. When I see these sneakers, I automatically think of the intro to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, where the show’s name was spelled out in graffiti, and with Bel Air really being the first show to put an emphasis on rising sneaker culture, this is a definitely a shoe that could have been seen on the 1990s version of Will Smith. It’s the perfect blend of white, blue, and yellow and has that 1990s ‘gradient’ effect that we all know and love.

4. Nike Kyrie 6 White University Red

Nike Kyrie 6 White University Red / GOAT

Release Date: August 2020

Gosh, these are sick! There aren’t very many sneakers on this planet that are more beautiful than a pure University Red colorway, and these are perfect if you attend Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, or any other school that has red and white color schematics. The prices for this ‘University Reds’ are still quite reasonable, with average sales landing around the $140 mark (which isn’t super bad for the resale market). These remind me a lot of the Jordan ‘B’Loyals’ in terms of their overall design, and I consider them a good addition to any closet.

5. Nike Kyrie 2 Duke Brotherhood

Nike Kyrie 2 Duke Brotherhood / GOAT

Release Date: March 2016

This is ‘old-school Kyrie,’ but we still had to include them because they are a classic. Kyrie’s time at Duke was unfortunately cut short due to an injury, but his impact on the Duke community remains felt to this day. Drawing on Duke’s ‘Brotherhood’ motto, the silhouette has a Hyper Cobalt Hyperfuse upper, with different shades of blue and dark purple splattered around evenly to create a 3D effect. While Kyrie has since expanded the production level surrounding his sneakers, these will always be timeless.

6. Nike Kyrie 6 Shot Clock

Nike Kyrie 6 Shot Clock / GOAT

Release Date: June 2020

One of Kyrie’s coolest sneakers to date, the ‘Shot Clocks’ are a preview of what NBA shot clocks are going to look like one-hundred years from now. The futuristic theme is dope, and I imagine the reflective features make them look even better at night. You can never go wrong with a solid black colorway, and while not too complex in their design, they are still eye-catching.

7. Nike Kyrie 6 USA

Nike Kyrie 6 USA / GOAT

Release Date: April 2020

Released last April, these sneakers were designed for the 2020 Olympics. As you all know, the Olympics were postponed to this summer in light of the Coronavirus pandemic, but hopefully, we will be able to put these to use this year. Kyrie had a strong showing during the 2016 Olympics when Team USA took home the Gold Medal, and will likely be back again if he wishes to play for the 2021 squad.

8. Nike Kyrie 7 Sisterhood

Sisterrhood
Nike Kyrie 7 Sisterhood / GOAT

Release Date: November 2020

As mentioned earlier, Kyrie always keeps the same energy for women as he does for men. Named ‘Sisterhood’ in honor of the many powerful women making strong moves in every area of their lives, these sneakers are stylish and can be worn in virtually any setting.

The Royal Blue colorway makes the shoe versatile and is extremely comfortable for hooping, or even casual wear. Kyrie really challenges your mind with his current iterations, and the best feature of the ‘Sisterhoods’ is a print design located inside the mesh panel. It is a very subtle detail that you may not immediately notice, but it really takes the shoe to the next level. Kyrie outdid himself with this one.

9. Nike Kyrie 4 Red Carpet

red and gold
Nike Kyrie 4 Red Carpet / GOAT

Release Date: May 2018

A solid red sneaker is difficult to master. If not careful, the shoes could end up looking a little too plastic and fake (like they belong on a toy). The ‘Red Carpets’ are a good statement shoe that doesn’t cross the line into being unrealistic. These are actually one of my favorites in Kyrie’s collection, and the gold Nike Swoosh against the fire truck red is what catches my eye the most. Again it is a ‘small detail,’ but if you remove the gold coloring, it drastically changes the appearance of the shoe and what you can wear with it. This is why we say Kyrie has a case for currently being the best in the game right now when it comes to sneaker releases.

10. Nike Kyrie 6 ‘Asia Irving’

Asia Irving
Nike Kyrie 6 ‘Asia Irving’ / GOAT

Release Date: July 2020

Of course, we had to save the best for last. Released in honor of his sister Asia, the ‘Asia Irvings’ are probably Kyrie’s most meaningful shoe. Asia, who is a stylist and entrepreneur that has put together many looks for her brother and other clients, is an example of what women can achieve when they are given an equal playing field. The ‘Asia Irvings’ have a variety of colorways to choose from, with the animal print ‘Multi Colors’ being our favorite.
