A Definitive Ranking of Virgil Abloh’s Off-White Nike Collabs

Virgil Abloh and his luxurious brand, Off-White, have ruled the sneaker game over the last year. Since his first release of “The Ten” with Nike, there hasn’t been a more talked about sneaker collaboration. He’s overshadowing the game’s heavyweights—Jordan and Yeezy have nothing on Abloh. And he’s doing it, quite simply, by remixing already instant classics and fine-tuning them into commercial successes.

It’s been just over a year since “The Ten” first dropped and the Off-White Nike collabs haven’t stopped producing hits. We’re at 26 sneakers already and they’re all selling out almost immediately and circulating hundreds of thousands of dollars in the resale market. And the best part? Abloh’s not done yet—there are still more hits to come. Most recently, his latest work on the Air Max 97 has emerged as a bestseller and is being talked-about all over social media. But what about past releases? For now, here’s a definitive ranking of each drop we’ve had so far.

2017 Hyperdunk / Nike

26. 2017 Hyperdunk

The 2017 Hyperdunk blends high fashion with basketball in this piece from Abloh. This sneaker features Nike’s react cushioning in a white silhouette with Abloh’s signature Off-White typography on the shoe. Hoopers from Draymond Green to Devin Booker have taken to the basketball floor in this.

Off-White Chuck Taylor / Nike

25. Off-White Chuck Taylor

This Chuck Taylor can easily be mistaken for an original Off-White sneaker if it weren’t for the classic Chuck Taylor logo on its upper. It features Abloh’s Off-White pattern in the sole of the shoe, the distinction between a Converse original and one with Abloh’s touch.

QUEEN Blazer / Nike

24. QUEEN Blazer

This piece was part of Serena Williams’s Queen collaboration with Abloh, continuing the same creative color palette as the Air Max 97. Its sole is distinct with pink, purple and gray hues and the sneaker carries the same exaggerated swoosh—this time in black across a wolf gray upper.

Zoom Fly Mercurial Orange / Nike

23. Zoom Fly Mercurial Orange

This sneaker dropped on the same day as its black counterpart and was just as big a hit with its orange upper. These shoes provide a good balance between fashion and activity, with Nike’s foam cushioning system bolstering Abloh’s taste in high fashion.

Zoom Fly Mercurial Black / Nike

22. Zoom Fly Mercurial Black

These were released in June as part of a World Cup Nike collaboration. The shoe’s upper is mainly black, but what makes it special is the green, blue and red lining on the sole and the spots of color across the upper.

“Grim Reaper” Blazer Black / Nike

21. “Grim Reaper” Blazer Black

This was another special Halloween October release for the Blazer, featuring a black upper with an exaggerated white swoosh to provide perfect contrast. It’s essentially the opposite of the original colorway and just as clean. You could wear this to a dinner party.

Presto White / Nike

20. Presto White

The white Air Presto released shortly after its black counterpart did and is an amazing shoe to dye and customize. If some of the custom colorways people have cooked up were part of the original release, this sneaker would be way higher on this list.

VaporMax White / Nike

19. VaporMax White

The VaporMax white is another play on the original VaporMax that initiated the collection. It isn’t as sleek as the original, but comes with the same translucent sole as its black counterpart as well as a perforated knit upper that makes it a great shoe to be active in.

Air Force 1 Low ComplexCon / Sneaker News

18. Air Force 1 Low ComplexCon

This is a remix of the original Off-White Air Force 1 made specially for ComplexCon. It almost looks exactly like an original Air Force 1, but its distinct metallic silver swoosh and slightly distressed sole along with the typography give it that Off-White feel you’re looking for.

CTAS ’70 Converse / Nike

17. CTAS ’70 Converse

This shoe was part of the original 10 but released long after the other nine despite making multiple appearances on the feet of many celebrities. This shoe, like the Zoom Fly, comes with a translucent upper that allows you to show off a ton of different sock combinations.

“Spooky” Blazer orange / Nike

16. “Spooky” Blazer orange

This Halloween special pack was debuted at Paris Fashion Week and was released shortly after. This tweak of the Blazer comes with the same exaggerated swoosh, but in a pumpkin orange color that makes it stick out a bit more.

VaporMax Black / Nike

15. VaporMax Black

Like the Presto above, this VaporMax drop was a stunning all-black remix to the original VaporMax released as part of the original drop. This sneaker comes equipped with a translucent midsole, giving a ton of flair to its all-black upper.

Presto Black / Stock X

14. Presto Black

Different from the original Off-White Presto, this triple-black colorway comes with a distinct black midpiece and a tongue that sticks out like a sore thumb with a bit of overlap. The contrast from the white swoosh in the middle of the shoe is an amazing touch.

All-White Jordan 1 / Nike

13. All-White Jordan 1

You have to really be careful with this one. This European exclusive colorway of the Jordan 1 is all white—something I try to stay away from in fear of a terrible spill going wrong. But this is so clean I doubt I could keep my hands off them if I ever had the opportunity.

UNC Jordan 1 / Nike

12. UNC Jordan 1

The UNC Jordan 1, like it’s Chicago relative, is a distinct play on the Jordan 1 that shines bright through the mix of powder blue and white on its upper. The swoosh, like the Chicago colorway, is patched on and sticks out on the shoe, giving it an incredibly modern and fashionable look.

QUEEN Air Max 97 / Stock X

11. QUEEN Air Max 97

This remix of the Air Max 97 might be the most colorful play on a shoe Abloh has made yet. In this collaboration with Tennis superstar Serena Williams, Abloh incorporates a tennis ball–colored zip tie to go along with an almost rose gold tinted upper and splashes of purple, pink and gold in its sole.

Air Max 90 / Nike

10. Air Max 90

This sneaker is a remix of the original Air Max 90 with a mix of different materials making its upper truly special. It comes with the signature Off-White topical branding, of course, but is also stitched together with a mix of suede and leather across its upper with a unique tongue.

Air Max 97 / Nike

9. Air Max 97

Another original piece of “The Ten” collection, the upper on this shoe is distinct as it comes in one piece on this crisp, white silhouette. It’s swoosh, unlike the original Air Max 97, is large and distinct across the upper—you can’t miss it.

Air VaporMax / Nike

8. Air VaporMax

The original Off-White VaporMax came as part of “The Ten” and reignited the flame behind one of Nike’s most successful models in 2017. The swoosh on this sneaker comes with distinct, chunky stitching and a white tongue to contrast its black and gray flame.

Air Max 97 Black/Cone / Nike

7. Air Max 97 Black/Cone

The most recent collaboration between Off-White is one of its best. This shoe gives us a minimalistic look at Abloh’s work with a sleek black and cone upper. The classic zip tie in the shoe comes in gray, giving us something special in this collab.

air force 1 low moma off white
Air Force 1 Low MOMA / Fight Club

6. Air Force 1 Low MoMA

This shoe was born through a collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art, so you know Abloh had to put a special touch on this. It’s shiny, silver swoosh overlaps with the traditional Off-White Nike typography on the shoe’s upper, giving it a bit of a distinct look from other shoes in Abloh’s collection.

nikeairforce1virgilablohoffwhite 1
Ghosting Air Force 1 / Nike

5. Ghosting Air Force 1

Like the Chicago Jordan 1, Abloh’s remix of the original Air Force 1 was quite impressive. It’s an all white piece with an almost translucent swoosh that makes the typography on the shoe stick out even more than usual. It’s an Off-White classic.

Blazer / Nike

4. Blazer

This might be the classiest shoe in Abloh’s Off-White x Nike collection. This is a minimalist look with minimal changes to the sneaker’s body, but the shoe’s oversized Swoosh logo gives it a distinct look along with the Off-White signature zip tie.

nikezoomvaporflyoffwhitevirgilabloh
Zoom Fly / Nike

3. Zoom Fly

The original Zoom Fly is an underrated Nike runner in the first place, but Abloh put his own twist on it by keeping the running technology breakthroughs in the shoe and fusing them with high fashion. The shoe’s lightweight, translucent upper allows it to be styled any way you want with a great pair of socks.

Air Presto / Nike

2. Air Presto

This is the most electric product Abloh has produced so far. It’s so unique and yet so Off-White. On its surface, it’s just a solid black and white sneaker not too far off from the original look of the Presto, but the distressed material and Off-White tweaks give it the perfect streetwear look.

Chicago Jordan 1 / Nike

1. Chicago Jordan 1

This is the ultimate flagship for Abloh’s collection. It’s a remake of what was really considered a perfect OG sneaker in the Chicago colorway of the Jordan 1. Abloh flipped this into his own distinct version of the shoe with the special typography and playful lace colorways, allowing the sneaker to have its own distinct look.
