Get Your First Look at the Nike Air Max 720

Nike is off to a good start in 2019. Within one week, the footwear giant has released both the Nike Adapt BB—the first self-lacing basketball shoe—and the new Nike Air Max 720, the first full-length air unit shoe. The Air Max 720 will be available in a variety of colorways that take inspiration from nature and natural wonders: Volcanoes, deserts, natural phenomena… You get it.

The shoe is the first of the Air Max series to have an air unit (the bubble you see at the heel of the sole) that takes up the entire length of the shoe. The 720 has the tallest air unit—at 38mm, it ups the ante (literally) from last year's model, the Nike Air Max 270.

All 360 degrees of air gives you more spring in your step, while keeping your feet cozy. The name 720 comes from the fact that the air unit can be seen from all sides of the shoe.

Nike is being mindful of waste and their environmental footprint, by making 75 percent of the air unit on the 720 from recycled materials. Expect to see the 720 rolling out all of February and continuing in other Nike Inc. product lines.
