This Week's Top 5 Sneaker Drops You Should Know

Nike

We love sneakers. From the latest collaborations to retro kicks that bring you back to your first pair, we know that feeling when you open the box and inhale that brand-new smell. So we’re rounding up the best and most highly anticipated sneakers every week. Let’s get started.

This week’s releases are a combination of hype and a hint of nostalgia that made our ONE37pm editorial selection process extremely difficult. Nonetheless, this curated list brings a little bit of everything to the table.

Jordan Brand is bringing back a classic Air Jordan 4 for the first time since 2006. Jumpman is shining a light on the Air Jordan 9 silhouette that features a reflective, multicolored detailing across the upper. Paris Fashion Week inspired a Parisian staple brand to cook up two colorful iterations on the Pigalle x Converse capsule. Nike’s All Conditions Gear line brings a tech-heavy boot that is perfectly engineered for any condition (and any fit).

To close out the week, Kanye West and Adidas are back with another chapter of the Yeezy Boost 350 v2. The “Yeshaya” colorway is as simple as it is desirable. The neutral tones are a perfect segway from winter to spring.

Take a look at the best kicks releasing this week. Be sure to check in next week for another heat-filled lineup that you won’t want to miss.

For the first time since 2006, the Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” is back. Inspired by Jordan’s on-court nickname, the pair leaves little room for color with its all-black upper and a hint of gray on the tongue. From its luxurious nubuck to the glossed Jumpman, the pair comes just in time for those who need to re-up from the ‘06 drop—or even for those who missed out the first time (myself included).

Price: $120

SNKRS and select Converse retailers

Since 2014, the Parisian brand and Nike have expanded their influence and momentum. Now, Pigalle is taking an unusual approach to the Converse 70 Ox as it mimics the mesmerizing basketball court that we all associate with the brand. The heavy pastel capsule had two colorways that resemble night and day. Whether you want a subtle pop of color or a loud pair of sneakers, the Pigalle x Converse collaboration has something for everybody.

Date: Jan. 25

Price: $190

SNKRS and select Nike retailers

The Air Jordan 9 is an underappreciated part of the Jordan legacy. From its construction to its comfort, the AJ9 can often be a sneaker connoisseur’s best-kept secret. The “Racer Blue” colorway blends the history of the Jordan line with a modern tweak. Aside from the blue Jumpman on the midsole and branding on the back, the gray stripe that runs from the toe box to the collar is a reflective material, creating an iridescent detail. Regardless of your affection for the Air Jordan 9, the “Racer Blue” iteration is the perfect example of Jordan Brand’s direction for 2020: history with a modern approach.
