5 Sneakers To Watch Out For The Weekend of June 4th

Some cool releases this week

GOAT

A new week means a new set of drops, and a fresh opportunity to snag a new pair of sneakers. I’m not sure about you guys, but I am feeling good. It’s the start of June, summer is around the corner, and like you guys I am planning my summer fits. Nothing sets off an outfit quite like a new pair of sneakers, and since outside is opening back up, we will have plenty of opportunities to show up and show out. I could spend the rest of this article daydreaming about what this summer is going to look like, but that’s not why either one of us are here. So let’s go into the new releases and what we have to look forward to.

1. Puma Rugrats Suede

Puma Rugrats Suede / PUMA

Release Date: 6/4

Slightly off-topic, but has anyone watched the Rugrats reboot yet? I watched it the other day, but I wasn’t wowed. Maybe it’s because I’m a 90s baby, but I still feel that the old-school graphics and music reign superior. That said, the Puma x Rugrats collab is a cluster of 1990s Nickelodeon colors that definitely brings the nostalgia back in full force, and I’m here for it. Unfortunately these are only available in kid sizes at the moment (which makes sense because Rugrats is a kid show), but if you are anything like me, then you can fit youth sizes. A lot of times that works against us, so it always feels good on those rare occasions that we get to flip the script.

2. Nike Lebron 8 “Miami Nights”

Release Date: 6/4

Bron might be far removed from his Miami days, but the South Beach never leaves his spirit. Volume 2 of the “Miami Nights” gives you the beach, the club, and a nice frozen cocktail all in one. The splatter of blue and red gives you those nice tropical vibes, and in my opinion, this is a shoe that stands out. I always enjoy when Lebron hits us with a Miami throwback colorway, and this is a dope sneaker to get just in time for those summer kickbacks.

3. Nike Kyrie 7 Ky-D “Weatherman”

Release Date: 6/5

By now y’all should know that Kyrie is going to bring us the colors, and he never disappoints. Kyrie actually has another cool sneaker dropping tomorrow, but the “Weatherman” caught my eye just a little more. The island color mixtures are incredible, as the shoe is literally designed to look like a weather/heat map. As I’ve mentioned before, Kyrie pays attention to the small details on his shoes, and it’s always the little things that make them pop. On this one, it’s the map pattern on the back. If you take that away it changes the entire appearance of the shoe, and that is something that Kyrie and Nike have really nailed down in their process over the years.

4. Ghostbusters x Reebok “Instapump Fury”

Release Date: 6/3

Who you gonna call? Well typically you would have to call the Ghostbusters to get you out of a jam, but this time around you’ll also have to call Reebok as the two are teaming to release a specialized ‘Ghostbusters” version of the Instapumps. This shoe is so chaotic that it is actually good. You have the classic Ghostbusters colors and logo on top of the traditional Instapump design, and plenty of other cool features. By the way, how do you guys feel about Instapumps in general? Do any of you own a pair? I’m curious to see what you all pair with them fashion wise as it is such a unique shoe.

5. fragment x Nike Dunk High Beijing

Alright last but not least we have the fragment x Nike “Dunk High Beijing.” This is pretty much an updated version of the iteration that came out in 2010, and honestly not much has changed. I know some prefer revamps to have at-least one major difference that separates the new from the old, but I honestly like it when brands make the new edition pretty much the same. The chances of finding certain retros can be very hard, and re-releases give you the opportunity to get them again without having to pay crazy retail prices (or not finding them at all).

Well that will do it for this week. As usual you can keep up with me on IG and Twitter. Catch y’all on the flip side.
