5 Sneakers Releasing This Weekend That Should Be On Your Radar

You ready for these drops?

It’s that time of the week again, peeps! These last couple of articles have gone pretty good with the weekend (and Monday) releases, so I think I am going to keep it this way for the time being. I am always open for adjustments, though, so let me know if there is anything in particular that you want me to cover! Now, as far as this week goes, of course, today is National Air Max day, so you already know I had to include a few new Air Max releases. Also, we have another shot at getting at some Dunks again this weekend, so I’m excited for a chance at redemption.

That said since it’s Air Max Day, and we are wrapping up Air Max month, I think it is only right that I make the list ‘Air Max’ heavy. That means I will have to leave some pretty big releases off, but I’ll have you covered with those drops on Twitter. I’m talking a lot so let’s get into it.

1. DQM x Nike Air Max 90 "Bacon"

Release Date: 3/26

The 'Bacons' are arguably one of the most sought-after Air Maxes of all time. This is going to be a tough cop, and anybody who gets their hands on these is a lucky son of a gun. Nike is bringing back the 2005 design after fifteen years of requests, and this iteration has all the features from its original release. I’m super excited to see sneakerheads rock these. Nike and DQM have had a great partnership for many years, so it is cool to see the two team up again.

2. Nike Air Max 1 “Evolution of Icons”

Release Date: 3/26

Out of all the Air Max drops this week, the 'Icons' are my favorite. Y’all know I love a dope futuristic theme, and these are a killer. Paying tribute to past Air Maxes, the shoe sports a white upper, and has grey suede overlays. 3/26 is engrained on the left heel, and the shoe goes for about $140 (retail at least). I know the ‘Icons’ may not be on everyone’s list, but I personally consider these to be a good pickup.

3. CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “Kiss of Death”

Release Date: 3/27

Okay, this is my last Air Max entry because I want the remaining two to be other releases I’m excited about, but I’m glad these are finally making their way to SNKRS. Some of you may already have this in your closet as it was originally released a couple of weeks ago, but for those of us that don’t, we get a second chance at being able to snag a pair. I love the color schematics on these. The tan color gives the shoe a versatile pop, and the red and orange on the midsole is just the right amount. We’ve honestly got so many chances to update our Air Max collection this week, and this makes me so happy.

4. Nike Dunk Low “College Navy”

Release Date: 3/29

What better way to start Monday mornings off than with a new pair of Dunks? The Dunk game has been crazy in 2021 so far, and I expect the Metallic Greys to go fast. There are fewer things that hurt worse than seeing a $100 pair of Dunks selling for $300 on the resell market, so I’m hoping a good percentage of us can get a W. I’ll be a part of the SNKRS Monday morning crew this time around, so I’ll keep you guys posted on if I was successful.

5. Nike Air Max "Taxi"

So I lied when I said the 'Kiss of Deaths' were my last Air Max entry. I'm from New York, so anything with an NYC design has me sold. I understand the overall colorway may not be everyone's cup of tea, and I get it. A solid yellow sneaker can be a difficult to pair with an everyday outfit, and if we are being completely honest, I probably only have a couple of items in my closet that would go with these shoes, but they are still unique and nice (in my opinion).

I'm thinking a white contrast would work best. Maybe white joggers with a springtime hoodie or a tank/crop. Or perhaps all-black would do (but it would have to be the right outfit). Either way, these are on my list as a must cop at some point.

That’s it for this week! As usual I’ll be back with another round of selections next Friday. In the meantime you can keep up with me on Instagram and Twitter.
