The New Mitchell & Ness Just Don Collection Is a Must-Cop Situation

These new specially crafted throwback shorts bring the heat

One of the most important steps in making sure your summer aesthetic stays cool is finding the right shorts. Whether you’re kicking it with your friends, playing sports or shutting down the dance floor at a day party, the shorts you wear can dictate what kind of day you’ll have. If you need some more cool shorts to add to your wardrobe, look no further, because sports apparel brand Mitchell & Ness is bringing you some exclusive, nostalgic NBA gear-inspired options with the help of designer Don C.

The Just Don collection is back and ready to win over new fans with new products added to the popular luxury shorts collection.

Chicago-bred designer Don C—who is known to bring out the flash at some of your favorite brands, like Nike and New Era—has added his own rendition to one of the most nostalgic NBA throwbacks the league has ever seen. He referenced the 1999–2000 Portland Trail Blazers wordmark and logo, stitching it onto the middle and lower part of the shorts. Using their signature black color as the main canvas, Don gave the shorts some pizzazz by incorporating two sets of the team’s logos onto one beautifully crafted ensemble that is sure to turn heads while you’re styling and profiling in the streets.

Most notably, the premium etched aglets and zipper pockets stand out, as Don added flavor by using the same material the pro hoopers wore years ago. He created a bold statement, perfect for the avid NBA fan in everyone. The Blazers shorts (as seen in these images) are among the latest addition in the collection, remixing the Denver Nuggets away shorts from their 1991–92 wordmark and logo.

Don continues to build off the momentum from last year’s collection, which sold out in select retail stores and on the website. He added some of his signature flair to the clothing items that featured NBA teams such as the New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Cleveland Cavaliers, as well as collegiate teams such as the Michigan Wolverines and North Carolina Tar Heels.
