You can't talk 1970s and 80s R&B, Disco, Funk, and Soul music without mentioning one of the greatest groups to ever do it in that regard—Earth, Wind, & Fire. Boasting some of the best-selling albums of all time—with estimated sales of over 90 million records worldwide—the band began circa 1969 with members Maurice White, Ramsey Lewis Trio, Wade Flemons, and Don Whitehead. At that particular time, the group was known for various songs and commercials around the Chicago area, which led to them getting a recording contract with Capitol Records. In some ways, they were a precursor to the success of Chicago rappers in the area down the line. The band's name was eventually changed to Earth, Wind, & Fire after a slight evaluation of the group's astrological signs, and they eventually expanded to ten people. From there the rest is history—a history that in addition to that 90 million records sold also contains six grammy awards, an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the NAACP Image Award Hall of Fame, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and plenty more. We've given ourselves the tough task of looking at Earth, Wind, & Fire's best songs and ranking them.

When you have a dynamic catalog full of classic after classic (check out our guide to the most valuable music catalogs), it's no east feat to narrow it down to a select few, but we're going to try our best.
