It goes without saying that Taylor Swift is one of if not the biggest music star on the planet right now. Her streams and sales are off the chart (with some of the best selling albums of all time), she's currently on a massive worldwide Eras tour that could end up being the highest-grossing in history when she's all done, she released a concert film for the tour back in October, and when she isn't crushing the music scene, she's single-handedly increasing the NFL's viewership. She also has some pretty great quotes about giving back; you can read some of the best quotes from musicians here. If you're like me, then you were introduced to Taylor (or T-Swizzle as we call her in the hood) around 2008/2009. That means you're more than familiar with Tay Tay's discography up to this point. That said, Taylor gains new fans every single day, and there's a younger generation being introduced to her music as we speak. If you fall into the latter category, you might be interested in taking it back to the beginning. If so, we've put together a guide that highlights all of Taylor Swift's albums in order from her first to her latest. Before we get started though, there's some stuff we've got to cover first.

Taylor is re-recording her albums as part of her 2018 deal with Republic Records where she negotiated to own her masters with all of the music she creates going forward. By re-recording her albums up to 2018, she will therefore own the copyrights to them. This is why you've been seeing the "Taylor's Version" of her older albums since the 2019 release of Fearless.

Which album is she re-recording next?

Just released at the end of October is the Taylor's Version of her critically and commercially successful 2014 album 1989.

What albums does Taylor Swift own?

Taylor Swift owns the rights to any album she's recorded after 2018, plus the Taylor's Version albums that she's re-recorded thus far. To date this includes: Lover (2019), Forklore (2020), Evermore (2020), Midnights (2022), Fearless (Taylor's Version) (2021), Red (Taylor's Version) (2021), Speak Now (Taylor's Version) (2023), and 1989 (Taylor's Version) (2023).
