From a studio album standpoint, the world got its first introduction to Taylor Swift through her 2006 debut album simply titled Taylor Swift. With co-writing credits on all of the album's track, the record was a mixture of country/pop/folk, and was a look into the average life of a teenager dealing with early relationships, friendships, and natural insecurities as you are coming into your own. The album was led by the single "Tim McGraw," which was Swift's first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100, and the album hit the top 15. This first album was also an introduction into the marketing, promotion, and connection with fans that has since made Swift a music heavyweight as she utilized MySpace as away to connect with fans. Originally released at the end of 2008, Fearless was led by the singles "Love Story," "White Horse," "You Belong With Me," "Fifteen," and "Fearless, " and garnered praise for its instrumentation, catchy hooks, and songwriting. "Love Story" and "You Belong With Me" were smash hits, helping to lead Fearless to eleven weeks in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. In the years since its release Fearless has been certified diamond, and it remains the most award country album of all-time. In April 2021, Fearless (Taylor's Version) was released following the dispute of ownership in regards to her back catalog. Originally released on October 25th, 2010, Speak Now was the follow-up to Fearless, blending together country, pop, and rock. "Mine" was the first single released off the record, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. It's second single, "Back to December," was another top ten hit, with "Sparks Fly," and "Ours" reaching No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs Chart. Speak Now sold over one million copies in its first week, and hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album has since been certified six-times platinum by the RIAA. Speak Now (Taylor's Version) was released on July 7, 2023. The album contains 22 tracks, including 16 songs from the deluxe edition of Speak Now and six previously unreleased "From the Vault" songs. The re-recording hit number one in ten different countries including the United States.

First released in 2012, Red was the fourth studio by Swift, and broke some pretty notable records along the way. A eclectic mixture of country and pop, seven singles were released from the album including the number one lead single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." Red topped the Billboard 200 for a total of seven weeks, which made Swift the first female artist and the second act since The Beatles to three consecutive albums each spend at least six weeks at number one. After its released, Red was certified seven times platinum by the RIAA, and was heavily nominated along the way. Red (Taylor's Version) was released on November 12, 2021.

Similar to its predecessors, the album featured a brand new cover, and included re-recorded versions of 20 songs from the deluxe edition of Red. Once again, the Taylor's Version Red reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

You had to be your late teens/early twenties for 1989 in real time. Believe us when we say that it was truly a moment in time. You had the opening single "Shake It Off," which was a different sound for Swift then previously heard up to that point. Then that was followed by "Blank Space," "Style," "Bad Blood," and "Wildest Dreams," which became the summer 2015 anthems that played on the radio non-stop on your summer trips/adventures with your friends and while you were in Forever 21. Like we said, it was a moment in time. 1989 held the number one spot for eleven weeks on the Billboard 200, is nine-times platinum, and has sold over ten million copies worldwide.

After an absolutely insane 1989 era, Taylor followed it up three years later with her sixth studio album Reputation, which was apparently inspired by the hit show Game of Thrones. Lead by the singles "Look What You Made Me Do," "...Ready For It?," "End Game," "New Year's Day," "Delicate," and "Getaway Car, " the record was a slightly darker one compared to her previous releases as it focused on the downsides of fames, toxic relationships, and just frustration about the random trials and tribulations of life. Reputation spent four weeks atop of the Billboard 200, very quickly becoming best-selling album by a female artist of 2017. To date the album has sold over 4.5 million copies, and will probably be re-recorded within the next year or so if it follows the trajectory of its predecessors. This will also be the final re-recorded/Taylor's Version album once it is re-released as Swift owns the masters to all of her post-2018 albums.

Following Reputation and a move to Republic Records, Swift released her seventh studio album, Lover, on August 23rd, 2019. Compared to Reputation, this album was more upbeat/uptempo with a focus on synthesizers, electro-pop, country, folk, and funk. The record was lead with the singles "Me!," "You Need to Calm Down," "Lover," "The Man," and "Cruel Summer," and had 1980s theme both in sound and its respective visuals. Unsurprisingly, Lover hit the top spot on the Billboard 200, and also topped the charts in Australia, Canada, Mexico, and the UK. Lover would go on to become the biggest selling album of 2019.

Not even a full year after Lover, Swift followed the record up with her eighth studio album Folklore, which was a surprise album and much needed in the midst of dealing with the early phases of the pandemic. Unlike Lover, Folklore was exactly that—a folk, indie, alternative album that was mellow, relaxing, and again, everything we needed in 2020. The album saw the release of three singles, "Cardigan," "Exile," and "Betty," and considered one of Swift's most artistic compositions breaking the record for the biggest opening day on a female artist. All three singles reached the top ten, and netted number one yet again where it remained for eight weeks. Folklore won album of the year at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

As if Folklore wasn't good enough, we got another release from Taylor at the end of 2020. Evermore was released December 11th, 2020, and came along with three singles "Willow," "No Body, No Crime," and "Coney Island." Referred to as sister albums, Evermore carries the same themes as Folklore with its alternative, indie, and folk mixture. The record addresses themes like grief, infidelity, and the negatives of human emotions, again making this an album that has been heavily praised for its writing and storytelling. Swift got another global number one with Evermore, selling over a million copes in its first week and topping the charts for four.

Aside from upcoming re-releases, Midnights is where Taylor Swift leaves us for now. Released in October 2022, the record spawned three singles "Anti-Hero," "Lavender Haze," and "Karma," and Swift is currently in the midst of promotional efforts for the album which includes the Eras Tour that's wrapped up its first leg last year. An additional leg was recently added which Swift is embarking throughout 2024.
