Season 2 of Bel-Air is finally here. The drama television series that is a reimagined version of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air premiered last February, becoming the most-streamed original series on Peacock reaching 8 million accounts to date. With those types of numbers, it’s no wonder the show was quickly renewed for a second season. Starring Jabari Banks, Adrian Holmes, Cassandra Freeman, Olly Sholotan, Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Jimmy Akingbola, Jordan L. Jones, and Simone Joy Jones, the second season is set to be released on February 23rd. Here’s everything you need to know before the premiere.

Bel-Air follows Will Smith’s journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to mansions of Bel-Air. The series is a reimagined version of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and is based on director Morgan Cooper’s short film of the same title. Additionally, Bel-Air covers topics such as racial tension, culture shock, and Black Excellence.

Who are the stars of Bel-Air?

Jabari Banks stars as Will Smith. Cassandra Freeman plays Vivian Banks, Will's aunt, wife of Philip, mother of Hilary, Carlton and Ashley and sister of Vy. Jimmy Akingbola portrays Geoffrey Thompson, the House Manager of the Bankses. Oily Sholotan plays Carlton Banks. Coco Jones plays Hilary Banks. Akira Akbar takes on the role of Ashley Banks. Simone Joy Jones plays Lisa Wilkes, a potential romantic interest of Will. Jordan L. Jones plays Jazz, a taxi driver and Will’s friend. And lastly, Adrian Holmes plays Philip Banks aka Uncle Phil.

What can we expect from season 2?

Apparently a lot of surprises. We do know that season 2 will continue upon the storylines set in the first season, which includes rebuilding the Banks family dynamic and trust. We also know that Tatiana Ali will be making an appearance as well. As for everything else… we’ll have to wait and see.

Will there be a Season 3 of Bel-Air?

As of right now, Peacock hasn't confirmed a Season 3 for the series. It is a fan-favorite for the platform, but the current streaming model sees a lot of beloved shows fail to make it multiple seasons. Fingers crossed we get another one!
