It’s Pedro Pascal’s world and we’re all just living in it. Starring in not one but two of the biggest television series in the world, Pascal has firmly established himself as one of the most beloved actors in Hollywood. Before becoming the leading man we know him as today, many of the best Pedro Pascal movies and TV shows featured him in a supporting, but no less impactful capacity.

With that, if you’re looking to dive into his filmography, we’ve compiled a list of some of Pascal’s best movie and television roles that are all worth a watch.

13. The Great Wall

A box office bomb with a premise as goofy as the final product, The Great Wall is nonetheless a fun action movie led by Matt Damon and features Pedro Pascal in a supporting role.

Pascal and Damon are European mercenaries in medieval China on a mission to find the secret to gunpowder. Things go awry for them, and they are enlisted to help defend the Great Wall of China from an army of monsters that attack once every century.

While not anything special, it’s certainly not the fault of Pascal’s performance, and you can find worse ways to spend two hours.

12. The Equalizer 2

Don’t get me wrong, The Equalizer films star, and belong to, Denzel Washington. That being said, Pascal plays the crucial role of Dave York in The Equalizer 2. Portraying  Washington’s character Robert McCall’s ex-partner, Pascal, turns in a great performance as a guy who (at least at the start) you aren’t quite sure you can trust.
If you’re into action movies, chances are you’re a fan of The Equalizer films, and Pascal is a big reason why the second entry into the franchise was such a success.

11. If Beale Street Could Talk

If we’re talking specifically about the quality of the movie, then If Beale Street Could Talk stands head and shoulders above the rest of the releases on this list. A powerful and poignant look at love, injustice, and the lengths we will go to protect the ones who matter the most to us, If Beale Street Could Talk earned Regina King an Academy Award for her performance.

Pascal’s role is small but essential in the film's overall plot, and he has a major impact on what happens to the main characters.

10. Calls

An incredibly unique take on the apocalyptic genre, Calls is an anthology series of interconnected recordings of phone calls between different characters in the lead-up to the end of the world. Calls features a powerhouse ensemble cast including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Aubrey Plaza, and Pascal.

He plays the neighbor of a married couple who speaks with them after they are caught up in a robbery that leads to an affair and betrayal. Given that you don’t see Pascal at all, it’s almost like you’re listening to a podcast, but Calls is certainly not to be missed.

9. Wonder Woman 1984

In the less-than-stellar sequel to Wonder Woman, Pascal portrays the villainous Maxwell Lord, who, along with Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah, tries to stop Wonder Woman from saving the day. Unfortunately, the movie was not very good, and also problematic due to a storyline involving Chris Pine’s character Steve Trevor being resurrected in another man’s body.

However, Pascal’s role as a failing businessman struggling with his newfound role as someone who has good intentions for humanity but continuously fails in his quest to help people is great. Much like The Great Wall, this movie’s failings are not the fault of Pascal but rather the screenplay, which sold the actors short.

8. Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Another day, another sequel for Pedro Pascal, but this time it’s a super fun one. In the follow-up to 2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, Pascal plays Whiskey, a lasso-swinging, cowboy hat-wearing secret agent in the clandestine spy agency, the Statesman. He teams up with the British spies Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and Merlin (Mark Strong) to try and stop a drug kingpin (Julianne Moore) from potentially poisoning the world with her substances.

This is another supporting role, but Pascal sure knows how to crack a whip and kick some ass, which he does plenty of in this movie.

7. Triple Frontier

A Netflix original action film that sees Pascal join a crew of ex-special forces soldiers on one last mission: Rob a South American drug lord of all he’s worth. Teaming up with Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, and Garrett Hedlund, Pascal serves as the team’s pilot and the guy responsible for making sure the team gets out in one piece.

With a cast like that, you can’t go wrong when you’re looking for a good action movie and Triple Frontier delivers in almost every aspect.

6. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Whether you are a fan of Nicolas Cage (let’s face it, who isn’t it?) or Pedro Pascal, or even just buddy action comedies, then The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is most definitely for you.

Cage plays a fictional version of himself who is paid $1 million to hang out with his number one fan, a billionaire playboy named Javi who is portrayed by Pascal. What starts out as a fun look at Cage’s career through the eyes of a superfan quickly becomes chaotic as Cage is recruited by the CIA to investigate Javi for arms dealing and kidnapping.

Also, it’s made one hell of funny trend on TikTok.

5. The Book of Boba Fett

What started out as a Mandalorian spin-off focused on the legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett transitioned into a pseudo prologue to the series’ third season. Hell, one of the episodes of The Book of Boba Fett didn’t even feature Boba Fett at all, and was essentially a new episode of The Mandalorian.

Pedro plays Din Djarin aka The Mandalorian, a galactic bounty hunter, who in The Book of Boba Fett is enlisted by Fett to help him fight off the Pyke Syndicate, a group of gangsters, on Tatooine. Given that Din had split from Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) at the end of season two of The Mandalorian, he signs up with Boba as a way to pay him back for helping him out.

4. Narcos

In his first major role post Game of Thrones, Pascal plays DEA agent Javier Peña, one of the men assigned to bring down notorious drug kingpin Pablo Escobar in Columbia. He is partnered with newcomer Steve Murphy and they begin their war against Escobar and the Medellin Cartel. In season three, Pascal takes center stage as the conflict switches from Escobar to the fight against the famed Cali Cartel.

Narcos is a thrilling series packed with action and suspense, and Pascal was a major reason why the show was so well-received. If you’re a fan of action series and/or gangster dramas, make sure you check out Narcos.

3. Game of Thrones

The role that made Pedro Pascal a household name. On Game of Thrones, Pascal portrays Oberyn Martell, a vengeful prince who arrives in King’s Landing seeking justice against those who responsible for the murder of his sister.

Pascal’s time on the show is short, despite that he has been a fan favorite for years. His portrayal of Oberyn stole the show in every scene he was in, most notably when he tells Tyrion Lannister that he will fight as his champion.

2. The Mandalorian

On Disney+’s first live-action Star Wars series, Pascal plays the eponymous Mandalorian bounty hunter, Din Djarin, who finds himself as the unexpected father figure to the young Grogu. Set after the Fall of the Galactic Empire and envisioned as something of a Space Western, his adventures take him across the galaxy, where he encounters other bounty hunters, criminals, monsters, and more.

Even if you aren’t a fan of Star Wars, The Mandalorian functions as a fun action-adventure show that is guaranteed to entertain. Not to mention, you get to watch Grogu and his hijinks on a weekly basis.

1. The Last of Us

It’s official: Pedro Pascal has the “hardened man trying to survive becomes reluctant father” market cornered on television.
Based on what is widely regarded as one of the greatest video games of all-time, The Last of Us follows Joel as he crosses a post-apocalyptic United States with a girl named Ellie (Bella Ramsey,) who might hold the key to humanity’s survival. The series has also been highly acclaimed, with much of the praise going to Pascal and Ramsey’s performances. It’s a dark, tragic, and personal journey, but a story that will leave you speechless on more than occasion.
