The 2022 World Cup takes place from November 21 - December 17, 2022, and while we're almost a year away from the action, the time is now to take a look at the United States Men's National Team (USMNT) and the impact that a deep run in Qatar could have on the individual players' cards.

A deep run? For the USMNT? That might have been a crazy thought in previous years, but there's a serious youth movement taking place currently in the States, with talented teenagers up and down the roster.

The future is very bright in a sport where they've been historically mediocre; the USMNT is currently sitting on the FIFA rankings at #12 in the world. Will they outperform that ranking? Only time will tell. If they do, here are the players whose cards might see the biggest increases in value:

1. Christian Pulisic MF - Chelsea

Pulisic is a silky-smooth winger, attacking midfielder, and the face of soccer in the United States, illustrated by his nickname “Captain America.” He started his career with Borussia Dortmund, and transferred to Chelsea in 2019 for $73 million, a record for any North American player.

If the USMNT makes a run in Qatar, you can be sure that Pulisic will be front and center—and he'll probably become a household name among people who barely follow the sport outside of the World Cup. If you want to invest in the USMNT, your collection has to include some Pulisic cards.

2. Giovanni Reyna MF - Borussia Dortmund

Reyna is an attacking midfielder for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund alongside international superstar Erling Haaland, and started his youth career playing with the NYCFC Academy Team. He was the youngest American to ever appear in a Bundesliga game at just 17 years and 66 days old, breaking Christian Pulisic’s record. Shortly afterwards, he became the youngest goal scorer in German Cup history, and he's the third youngest player to ever appear in a knockout game of a UEFA Champions League game.

His parents (Claudio Reyna and Danielle Egan) are both former soccer players, and he'll most likely be a huge part of any success the USMNT has in Qatar.

3. Ricardo Pepi FW - FC Dallas

Pepi is another massive piece of the future of the USMNT. At just 18 years old, the Mexican-American striker has been on fire in CONCACAF qualifiers, scoring the game-winning goal against Honduras in August and following it up with two goals in a 2-0 win against Jamaica.

So far in 2021 for FC Dallas, he has 13 goals in 31 games, including a hat trick against LA Galaxy—making him the youngest player in MLS history to score three goals in one game.

His cards have already seen a huge increase in the hobby, and a big showing in Qatar will only further help the cause.

Aaronson is a 21-year-old midfielder who played in the MLS for the Philadelphia Union before moving to FC Red Bull Salzburg. He grew up in Medford, New Jersey, and was given the nickname “Medford Messi.”

His latest goal for the USMNT came in a late-September qualifier against Canada, which ended in a 1-1 draw. He's a central part of the team and is quietly underrated.

Twenty-three-year-old McKennie is one of the USMNT’s most popular players. He's currently a midfielder for Serie A club Juventus and started his professional career in the MLS with FC Dallas.

He has 8 international goals dating back to 2017, with his most recent coming against Mexico in a huge CONCACAF qualifying win in front of a raucous Cincinnati crowd to put the team ahead 2-0. He recently suffered a scare, though, as he injured his knee in a Juventus match against Atalanta. Thankfully, it wasn't as serious as it first appeared.

Twenty-one-year-old Weah is the son of former soccer player and Ballon d’Or winner George Weah. He started his professional career with Paris Saint-Germain and currently plays for Ligue 1 club Lille.

Being the son of an all-time great can’t be easy, but if he scores a goal or two in the World Cup, it will be quite a story. He's definitely someone to keep your eyes on!

Musah is yet another 18-year-old on the squad, showing again why the future of U.S. Soccer is so bright. He started his professional career in 2019 with La Liga club Valencia, and despite being courted to play for England, he ultimately chose to represent the United States internationally earlier this year, saying, “The moment I decided to play for the United States came one day when my heart told me that this was the best place for me. The project that we have now and for the future is so exciting, and it’s a great pleasure to be able to be a part of that. I can’t wait to get started.”

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder out of Minnesota is already generating quite a buzz among collectors. He's the fifth youngest player to ever score a goal in the MLS, and is the youngest to score in his first two games. On June 24th, it was announced that he was moving to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, but not until the conclusion of the MLS season.

He currently has 9 professional goals and is one of the United States’ top prospects. However, it's not a lock that he will make the USMNT roster ahead of the World Cup.
