Georgia State is hitting their stride, and doing it “The State Way.” If you know anything about GSU, then you know that February and March are the months where the Panthers kick it to another level. With three March Madness appearances in the last seven years and an unbelievable home record to match, the Panthers have been G.A’s finest. Speaking of home, we wanted to take you through what it’s truly like to experience a Panthers' home game at the Sports Arena.

ONE37pm: Thanks for joining us Ben! How’s the season going so far?

BM: You know the season has been tough so far. We haven’t really been healthy with the injuries and obviously, COVID cancellations have been wreaking havoc. That said, the team is picking things up. We have four seniors who have been through the trenches and understand the importance of February and March. It will be interesting to see how things play out!

ONE37pm: What is the Georgia State Basketball game day experience like?

BM: It’s definitely non-conventional. We play in a building that was built in the 1960s and originally meant to be a physical education center. Folks have different experiences, and we have been one of the top teams in the nation with multiple March Madness appearances and over 100 wins at home. We have a great band and students as well!

ONE37pm: Anything else you want to add about the Panther Experience?

BM: GSU is a downtown Atlanta university, and we have been the top team which has caused more and more teams to gravitate towards playing us. We’re looking forward to brighter days!

Georgia State is currently on a two-game winning streak with wins against Louisiana Monroe and South Alabama. The Panthers take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Thursday at 7:00 pm EST.
