Before this Premier League season even started, it felt clear that it was going to be one of the biggest and best seasons in a while. Cristiano Ronaldo’s move back to Manchester United was one of the biggest transfers in recent memory and for a while, it even looked like he was going to be joined by Messi, who eventually went to PSG instead of Man City as was rumored for a while. Right now, games are competitive and who is going to lift the trophy at the end of the season is still up for debate, although many believe it will be a three-horse race between Chelsea, Manchester City, and Liverpool.

The Premier League is widely considered the best league in football and despite it being the English league, it has a bunch of fans worldwide totaling a mind-blowing 4.7 billion. If you’re in the USA and call the sport soccer, then you might think that watching the League would require jumping through some hoops and far too much effort, but that’s not necessarily the case at all.

How to watch the Premier League with cable

In the USA, NBC Sports Group has the rights to the Premier League, which is handy because that simplifies things greatly. On cable, you can watch games on NBC, NBCSN, CNBC, and USA Network. Unfortunately, while these options are all great and easy, NBC’s paid subscription service Peacock has exclusive rights to 175 games out of the season’s 380. Across all the platforms though, you have access to every game in a season.

How to watch the Premier League without cable

If you don’t have cable, don’t stress it too much, because there are still multiple other options for watching the Premier League in the USA. Below, the different non-cable platforms you can watch games on are outlined.

Peacock

Although there is a free version of Peacock available, unfortunately, you won’t be able to watch Premier League games on it. To watch the League, you’ll need Peacock Premium, which costs just $4.99 a month. The great thing is that not only can you watch matches live, but there are also full-match replays. There is a Premium Plus version of the service that costs $9.99 and has no commercials if you want the extra convenience. Otherwise, there are five minutes’ worth of ads per hour.

This month, NBC extended their deal with the Premier League so that they’ll have the rights to it for the next 6 years, so perhaps getting on board with the subscription service is a wise choice and good investment.

Hulu with Live TV

Hulu offers dozens and dozens of live channels, some of which are NBC, NBCSN, CNBC, and USA Network, which means you can watch any games that are airing there. Hulu’s Live TV option is considered to be an alternative to cable and so it costs a hefty $64.99 a month (and this will increase to $69.99 on the 21^st of December). That’s a high price point if all you’re going to watch is Premier League games, but for hardcore soccer fans or those who will explore the other options, it could be worth it. If you’re interested, perhaps the 1-week free trial they offer would be a good choice.

DIRECTV Stream

DIRECTV is another streaming service that includes the NBC channels which have Premier League games on. These are part of their Entertainment plan and will cost $69.99 per month. Although there is no free trial on offer here, you are promised a free refund if you cancel within 14 days, which basically acts as a trial itself.

YouTube TV is a platform that many are still unaware of around the world but is an increasingly popular option in the USA which it is exclusive to. It was founded nearly five years ago now and it’s a streaming television service that offers live TV as well as on-demand video and cloud-based DVR. Some of its many channels include NBC, NBCSN, CNBC, and USA Network, so watching the Premier League on it is simple. It costs $64.99. The service also supports Fire TV, Android, iOS, and Chromecast though, so consider that as part of the bundle.

fuboTV features all of the aforementioned NBC channels that house Premier League games. There are over 100 live channels in total, making it a popular choice for those without cable. It costs $64.99 monthly but does offer a seven-day free trial.
