The Fall/Winter 2022, Carhartt WIP is guaranteed to have you iced out. One of the brand’s most multifaceted to date, this latest capsule explores several distinct themes, from traditional outdoor gear to Baroque-influenced tapestries, to the Scandinavian New York’s Youth Crew movement of the 1990s.

For those who may not know, Carhartt WIP is the workwear giant's offshoot line that produces elevated iterations of the brand's storied signature pieces. Essentially, they combine the durability and history of the legacy workwear brand with a more contemporary, streetwear-influenced design ethos. Let's take a peek at the Carhartt WIP F/W 2022 lookbook.

As ever, this season’s Carhartt WIP collection is built around a slew of classic items and iconic fabrics, like Dearborn Canvas, which are laser-aged to accentuate their feel. Voluminous balloon fits and a unique pigment dye treatment also accompany the collection along with various archetypal Carhartt WIP elements such as gold button detailing and diamond quilting to give the collection a 1970s feel.

Focused on a minimalist design, the collection also features a brutalist Scandinavian bent, marrying textured fisherman style sweaters with clean, austere outerwear, such as the Kilda Jacket.

Other pieces in this collection, however, have complex prints that give off a baroque-collegiate feel thanks to their rich palette of dark reds and dusty browns.

The collection is rounded out by a series of prep-influenced staples that draw inspiration from the brand’s own archival advertising from the 1990s, as well as elements of American casual-wear.

Additionally, varsity jackets appear alongside horizontal stripes and chino pants, channeling the clean-cut, collegiate Youth Crew aesthetic seen in New York during the 90s.
