Maison Margiela and Reebok are teaming up once again. This time around, the two are linking up to announce their latest release, which is the Instapump Fury Memory Of in two OG colorways: black, yellow and red; and black, silver and blue. Available only in the Asia-Pacific region, this new collab is an homage to the original 1996 colorways created by Reebok upon first launching the Instapump line. These new iterations will be available in stores on October 21st, 2022 as the next chapter of Maison Margiela’s long-standing deal with Reebok.

We're going back in time
For this reimagined drop, Maison Margiela’s creative director John Galliano re-splices the properties of the Instapump Fury with the house code known as “the memory of.” What is “the memory of,” you might ask?
It’s the languished impression of a familiar motif still evident within a garment or an accessory, which echoes something that once was and evokes it within the creation of something new.
This recreation of the 96 shoes are a blend of the past and present in the sense that it’s based on Reebok’s classic design but reinterpreted through “the memory of.”
Here’s some of the shoe’s features: the back of the shoe is remodeled using the flexible bridges, a floaty design, the foam around the heel is exposed in its natural colour along with mesh applied to the toe, and mesh and fabric-covered TPU, along with an EVA sole with hexalite detailing and a TPU outsole. There’s also the flame-shaped mudguard around the toe box that is largely stripped of seams, seams, fuelling the three-dimensional relief impression.
Maison Margiela x Reebok Instapump Fury Memory Of in OG colourways will be available from October 21st, 2022 in select markets exclusively on Reebok.com, with a suggested retail price of ¥ 43.000 - HKD 3.490 - ₩ 449.000 – RMB 3.490. Hopefully they'll start reselling stateside after the initial release, fingers crossed.
