Wondering all about the LEGO April 2023 release calendar? Let's get in to it!

Spring brings all new things, and the same is true for the world of LEGO! Let’s check out every new LEGO set hitting store shelves in April. Of course, the best place to shop LEGO is on their official Shop@Home website, but these will all be available wherever LEGO is sold locally to you.

LEGO Indiana Jones

After 15 years of dormancy, LEGO Indiana Jones has finally returned!

We’re getting three sets in this reintroduction wave, 77012 Fighter Plane Chase from The Last Crusade for $34.99, as well as 77013 Escape from the Lost Tomb for $39.99, and the immaculate 77015 Temple of the Golden Idol at $149.99 (which is now my favorite LEGO set of all-time.) These sets include brand new minifigures, very memorable builds, and most importantly, lots of “fortune and glory.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is fast approaching, so it’s no surprise that tie-in LEGO sets are finally hitting shelves.

First up we have 76251, the Star-Lord Helmet, which unfortunately rolls in at a grossly overpriced $79.99 price tag. More affordably, the Guardians of the Galaxy Headquarters includes Groot and Star-Lord minifigs for a surprisingly low price of $9.99.

At the mid tier, 76254 Baby Rocket’s Ship comes with Baby and full-grown Rocket Raccoon for $34.99, while the behemoth 76255 The New Guardians’ Ship includes almost the entire team as minifigures and retails for $99.99. Having built and reviewed all of these early, I do think they’re worth the price (except the Helmet set) but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t an expensive month to be a LEGO Marvel fan!

LEGO Disney

Continuing the Disney 100th Anniversary celebration, we’re getting three new sets from the Magic Kingdom. The most exciting of which is set 43217 Carl Fredrickson’s house from “UP,” which will retail for $59.99. We’re also getting a 4+ set aimed at builders just starting out, set 43212 Disney Celebration Train, which will include some highly sought-after minifigures like Peter Pan, Moana, and more. For the youngsters, there’ll also be a $99.99 Duplo 3-in-1 Magical Castle set, so this Disney wave is offering something for the whole family.

LEGO Minecraft Brickheadz

LEGO’s not-so-subtle answer to Funko Pops! are back for more, this time offering three new Minecraft characters at $9.99 each. These new figures include 40624 Alex, 40625 Llama, and 40626 Zombie. These follow-up from the 2018 release of 41612 Steve and Creeper, which I’m sure will be a welcome addition to Minecraft collectors’ shelves.

In a late reveal, fans have been excited for the Land Rover Classic Defender 90 (10317,) but be prepared for its staggered release. It’ll be in LEGO stores and LEGO online for VIPs only on April 1st, and will release everywhere else on April 4th. This set utilizes a unique sand green color scheme to offer builders the ultimate off-road LEGO build, if you can stomach the $239.99 price tag!

That’s all for now, but feel free to reach out to me any time on IG to discuss your thoughts on the latest in LEGO news!
