It’s Flavors Friday, and that means Barry’s back with another Work From Home edition of Down the Hatch. In this episode, the king of flavor takes on a series of vintage candies. Some of the options on the tasting table are deep cuts, while others have managed to stay relevant for years. From bubble gum to candy cigarettes, there’s a lot to taste this week and, of course, a lot to make jokes about.

Just like last week, all of this episode’s tastables are available on Amazon, so go ahead and have a little Down the Hatch of your own. Mr. Flavors opens the episode with a pretty peculiar candy, Boston Baked Beans. The little morsels are billed as candy-coated peanuts, and have a striking resemblance to real baked beans. He follows the BBBs with a candy called, Cry Baby Tears, which he refers to as, “warheads before warheads were warheads.” Essentially, they're a sour candy.

Sugar Babies and a Sugar Daddy are up next on the table. The babies are like little caramel jelly beans, while the Daddy is a caramel pop. They both provide a sweet flavor explosion before moving onto one of the blander candies, candy cigarettes. “It has literally no taste,” Barry says. He follows up with another weird option, Nik L Nip Wax Bottles Candy Drinks. He bites off the top and sends the potent little drink down the hatch.

Barry gets to close the episode with a fan favorite to this day, Hubba Bubba Bubble Tape. He has a few gross old bubblegum habits (like returning the full chewed tape to its case), but everyone knows bubble tape rules.

If you loved this episode and want to see Barry try more tasty treats, make sure to check out last week’s episode, when he took on a myriad of dips.
