If you are a fan of the iconic King Kong, then you have been anxiously anticipating this moment.

The trailer for Skull Island on Netflix has finally premiered and from the looks of it, things will be getting real interesting in the world of Kong. Loosely-based on the events of the 2017 film Kong: Skull Island, we're getting our first look as to how the series is going to unfold when it premieres on June 22nd via Netflix, and the trailer looks pretty freaking epic. Here's everything we know about Skull Island thus far.

Skull Island is a Netflix exclusive show that will see all of its episodes premiering on that June 22nd date, meaning it's not a weekly episode type of series, and you'll be able to binge-watch if that's your fancy.

What is Skull Island about?

As we mentioned earlier, Skull Island is based on the events of the 2017 film Kong: Skull Island, and is set in Legendary’s MonsterVerse as a reminder for those that may have forgotten since this original announcement came more than two years ago. Skull Island is about a group of researchers shipwrecked on a remote island and shortly introduced to the vicious Skull Island’s Titans who...don't like unwanted visitors and make it clear through their actions.

Who's in the 'Skull Island' cast?

Nicolas Cantu, Darren Barnet, Mae Whitman, Benjamin Bratt, Betty Gilpin will be leading the cast as the group of shipwrecked characters. Additionally, Skull Island is created, written and executive produced by Brian Duffield, Jacob Robinson, Thomas Tull, Jen Chambers, and Brad Graeber.

Once again, Skull Island will premiere via Netflix on June 22nd. Will you be there? Cause we will.
