AEW Worlds End: Matches and Predictions

Preview & Predictions: SO NOW WE'RE DOING THIS MATCH! An epic feud-ender that we all should have seen a year ago is finally taking place and it's happening on PPV, thankfully. I love both of these guys, but I'm saddened by the fact that they're getting the chance to work against each other at the point where their storyline has already run out of steam. Even with the lackluster job afforded to both men regarding reheating the beef between them, I'm confident that Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee will go out there and work their asses off to make the fans in the Nassau Coliseum care about their in-ring war. Swerve is the hot commodity these days, so I'm predicting a win for him and a defensive end to his longstanding beef with Lee.

Preview & Predictions: I'm so happy to see how far Julia Hart and Abadon have come - Hart has blossomed as a member of The House of Black and has improved to the point where she's become a marquee part of AEW as its current TBS Champion, while Abadon has come back rejuvenated and has looked great in the ring lately. I think this match has the makings of a good- to great-matchup that the fans aren't expecting to be a banger. Both these spooky ladies are going to go above and beyond to prove they're worthy of getting a spot on this PPV. As far as my AEW World's End predictions go, Julia is retaining the TBS Championship.

Preview & Predictions: Miro's wife C.J. Perry is out here trying to put her managerial expertise to great use for Andrade El Idolo. But "The Redeemer" just isn't letting her cook! Andrade enjoyed a star-making run during his time spent in the inaugural Continental Classic. But now that he's been booted out of the tournament, Miro is fully prepared to exact divine justice upon the fierce Luchador. Here is another case of a matchup that could end up being better than everyone is expecting it to be. With a fired-up Miro and a post-Continental Classic Andrade coming to blows here, I'm predicting a match that'll get hot crowd reactions as it reaches its closing moments. My gut is telling me Andrade will prevail here, which will further drive Miro to madness as he'll be forced to watch his wife continue to back Andrade as he (hopefully!) moves on to bigger and better opportunities.

Preview & Predictions: AND HERE WE HAVE THE MOST RANDOM MATCH OF AEW WORLD'S END! I figured everything that happened on the AEW Dynamite before this PPV was setting up an AEW World Tag Team Championship between Ricky Starks & Big Bill and Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara. But I got swerved because not only are the tag team titles not on the line but The Don Callis Family sans Guevara, Darby Allin, and Sting have been thrown into this feud to produce an eight-man tag team affair. So for my next call on this list of AEW World's End predictions, I'm calling a submission victory for the good guys via Sting tapping out Powerhouse Hobbs with a Scorpion Death Lock after everyone on the babyface squad weakens the big lug with their respective finishers.

Preview & Predictions: "Timeless" Toni Storm and her whole "crazed silent movie actress" shtick has won me over! I pop every time she makes her way to the ring with a black and white filter and I get a good laugh out of her time spent on commentary. Now that she's the AEW Women's World Champion, she's breathed new life into her career and getting to do it as the top women's titleholder in the company. I'm excited to see what she can do with Riho, who's made her latest return to AEW to pit her Joshi-style wrestling against one of World Wonder Ring Stardom's greatest international talents. It's clear as day to me and everyone else that Riho is being set up as a legit contender for Toni to overcome that'll add an extra dose of credibility to her ongoing title reign.

Preview & Predictions: I love how Tony Khan is adopting that whole deal where New Japan Pro Wrestling throws its tournament competitors into a big multi-man tag team affair once they've all been eliminated before the Grand Finals. Everyone being put in the spotlight here did a bang-up job when it came to helping the Continental Classic be a massive success. So you already know they're going to go out there and put on one last banger in honor of the great work they've put in over the past month or so. I think we're going to see a shock win via Daniel Garcia coming out of nowhere to get the win for his team by pinning Jay Lethal. With the crowd so firmly behind Garcia these days, I can see TK wanting to throw the young superstar a bone by allowing him to get the big W here.

Preview & Predictions: Christian Cage is on fire right now! He's the "Father of the Year," one of the greatest talkers in all of modern-day wrestling, and the man responsible for bringing the TNT Championship out of the doldrums the title had been in before he captured the belt. Adam Copeland is also doing some of the best work of his late career - the maniacal version of the "Rated R Superstar" that's revenge-driven and ready to destroy his latest foe is my favorite version. With both men at the top of their games right now, I'm very much looking forward to seeing how this match goes down.

Since this one has been booked as a No Disqualification Match, we all know that a bunch of outside shenanigans will play a part in how this one unfolds. Nick Wayne and his mother will come out to interfere on Christian's behalf, of course. But I'm fully expecting Edge to find a way to eliminate Nick, while the surprise AEW debut of Adam's wife Beth Phoenix (real name Elizabeth Copeland) will come out to put Nick's mother in the dirt! With all of his backup no longer an active presence, Christian will finally fall in defeat to a Spear from Adam and relinquish his TNT Championship to his former best friend.

Preview & Predictions: Back at Full Gear 2020, Jon Moxley successfully defended his AEW World Championship against Eddie Kingston after a vicious "I Quit" Match. Cut to 2023 and now both men are fully prepared to brutalize each other all over again. But this time, they'll be fighting tooth and nail to leave the ring victorious as the first-ever Continental Classic tournament winner and the modern-day Triple Crown Champion of AEW, ROH, and NJPW. Thanks to the amazing promo work done by both men on the final episode of Dynamite before World's End, this bout has earned the honor of being my most anticipated match of the whole PPV. My gut is telling me the crowd's favorite underdog Kingston will shock the world by defeating Moxley and getting the biggest pop of the night!

Preview & Predictions: So the whole "Who's the Devil storyline?" has put a damper on this whole AEW World Championship feud. What could have been booked as a simple rematch between two very talented talkers and in-ring competitors has instead been booked as a convoluted storyline that has killed a lot of my excitement for this AEW Grand Slam 2023 world title rematch. So here's the thing - based on the events of the last airing of Dynamite, it's been clear that Joe entered into a deal with The Devil to further weaken MJF for their eventual PPV title bout.

For my final selection in this lineup of AEW World's End predictions, I think Joe's deal will ultimately pay off with him shocking the world by defeating MJF! While Joe leaves the ring with his head held high and the AEW World Championship sitting on his shoulder, MJF will be left in the ring to wallow in his sadness. Then out of nowhere, The Devil and his henchman will hit the ring to massacre MJF. After that show-closing assault, The Devil will be revealed as Adam Cole! His "worshippers" will be revealed to be The Kingdom's Matt Taven and Mike Bennett (who I think are the masked men who won the ROH Tag Team Championship on the previous episode of Dynamite!), a returning Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong, and Wardlow!
