The number four ranked player in the class of 2023 is Duncanville, Texas native Ron Holland. Holland is currently the 2nd ranked power forward in this class. Standing at 6’8” with a long reach, Holland possesses all the intangibles to be an elite interior defender. He’s seen steady improvement of his offensive game and is on the trajectory to be a lottery pick if he can keep improving. Holland plays for Duncanville High School and was teammates with 2022 McDonald’s All-American and future Arkansas Razorback Anthony Black. Holland has not made a commitment to play anywhere after his senior year of high school.
3.) Mackenzie Mgbako
The top ranked small forward in the class of 2023 and overall third ranked player in this class is Mackenzie Mgbako. Mgbako stands at 6’7” and is from New Jersey. He is a three level scorer with the ability to score from just about any spot on the floor. Mgbako can be described as a point-forward and finds the most success with the ball in his hands. He is the only top five ranked player in the class of 2023 to commit, and he will be playing for the Duke Blue Devils after his senior year of high school.
2.) Kwame Evans
Kwame Evans is the top ranked power forward in this class and overall sits at the second spot. He is from the Baltimore area and currently plays for Montverde Academy. Evans is an excellent scorer from all spots on the floor, especially from deep. He recently hit 3 three pointers in the Geico National Championship. Montverde Academy is known not only for producing D1 stars, but also NBA ready prospects. If Evans can keep expanding his range, his name may be called in the lottery very soon. He has not committed for where he will play after his upcoming senior year of high school.
1.) D.J. Wagner
The #1 point guard and overall prospect in the class of 2023 is. D.J. Wagner. He is the son of former Cleveland Cavaliers guard Dajuan Wagner whose career was cut short due to illness. D.J. is from New Jersey and currently plays for Camden High School. Wagner helped lead Camden to its first state title since 2000 while putting up 19.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.2 steals, and 3.1 assists per game. He has not committed to anywhere next season, but his father was recruited by then Memphis coach and current Kentucky coach John Calipari. Wherever D.J. Wagner decides to go, his future is bright.
