  • Years Won: 1948, 1949, 1960

The first Super Bowl in NFL history was held in 1967, but the NFL's first season dates back to 1920. Before the Super Bowl era began in 1967, teams would play for the 'NFL Championship'. In this era, the Eagles found an immense amount of success, winning three NFL Championships.

The first two championships for the Eagles organization came in back-to-back years after dominating the NFL from 1948 to 1949. That first championship in 1948 came in a close 7-0 victory over the Chicago Cardinals. In 1949, the Eagles defeated the Los Angeles Rams 14-0 to secure their second consecutive championship.

The third NFL Championship the Eagles won came 12 years later in 1960, just seven years before the first Super Bowl. In an epic NFL Championship, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers and legendary coach Vince Lombardi. The Packers nearly completed a comeback before the Eagles stopped the Packers at the nine yard line on the final play of the game.
