WWE Elimination Chamber 2022 Preview: Matches and Predictions

Preview & Predictions: Poor Drew McIntyre. The man has been trapped in a perpetual limbo since dropping the WWE Championship to The Miz and coming out on the losing end of a bout against Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania last year. He hasn't really been involved in anything interesting since then and his 2022 has been super unremarkable thus far. His ongoing feud with Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss has been a complete eyesore that I wish would come to an end sooner rather than later.

I'd put good money on that wish coming to fruition once this match reaches its conclusion. Madcap Moss is just here to eat another pin from a superstar that's much higher on the totem pole than him. And that guy is clearly good old McIntyre. I'm a little afraid that McIntyre will stay in the mix with Corbin for another month, but I feel like WWE might wise up (which is rare, I know...) and get McIntyre ready for his WrestleMania opponent instead.

Preview & Predictions: I'm kinda shocked that we're not getting another combination of The New Day against The Usos here! Now while I love those guys to death and they always have good to great matches, I'm pretty exhausted at having to watch them over and over again. WWE's lackluster tag team division on both main roster brands leaves the company no choice but to rely on that neverending feud, sadly.

Thankfully, we're finally getting a fresh matchup here for the Blue Brand's tag team straps. Now while I miss the far better version of The Viking Raiders that ran roughshod over everyone in NXT (both guys had a way better name, too!), I still enjoy watching them work once the bell rings. And I'm quite sure Ivar and Erik will have an enjoyable match with the reigning, defending SmackDown Tag Team Champions. My gut's telling me WWE loves the image of Roman Reigns and his cousins all wearing championships too much, which is why I think The Usos aren't dropping the straps here and anytime soon.

Preview & Predictions: If you read my 2022 Royal Rumble predictions, you know I figured The Miz and Maryse would screw Edge and Beth Phoenix out of a win during their Mixed Tag Team Match. And I thought that win would lead to a feud closing singles match at this show between Edge and The Miz. But I was clearly wrong - Edge and Beth actually overcame their power couple rivals. So what's Edge set to do next? A Wrestlemania 38 feud with AJ Styles, I hope!

Anyways, The Miz has kept himself in the Raw mix by messing with the Mysterio's. The Miz has mixed it up with Dominik Mysterio already - The Miz got a win on January 31, while Dominik pulled off a shocking victory against The Miz on February 7. Now The Miz is going to lock up with Rey Mysterio to keep this beef going. And you know what? I think Rey's gonna nab the win here to give the Saudi Arabian crowd in attendance something extra to cheer for.

Preview & Predictions: Can we keep it all the way real, ladies and gentlemen? Since coming back and deflating everyone's good vibes at SummerSlam last year, Becky Lynch has been a total flop as a returning full-time member of the Raw roster. I've found myself completely tuning out of her promos and have little to no interest in any of her feuds & matches. I'm not much of a Lita fan either, so this match lies at the very bottom of my list of matches that I'm excited for on this show.

What we have here is your annual Saudi Arabian special event Hall of Famer vs. Modern-Day Superstar matchup. And to be honest with you guys once again? I get the feeling that this bout is gonna be a disappointment for many that are hyping it up in their head too much based on their nostalgia for Lita. As for who I think the winner will be, it's clearly gonna be Becky. WWE's clearly got bigger plans for her at WrestleMania this year, which is why I think Lita's obviously taking the L here.

Preview & Predictions: Now that Ronda Rousey is back in the mix, WWE's gonna do everything in its power to make the most of her limited-time appearances. Which makes all the sense in the world - she's the biggest women's star in the company and brings in plenty of eyes whenever she's placed into a big match. Before her WrestleMania 38 clash with Charlotte Flair, Ronda's set to link up with Naomi to get sweet sweet revenge on the SmackDown Women's Champion and Sonya Deville.

I see this tag match as more of a way to allow Naomi to truly deliver the comeuppance that Sonya so richly deserves. My gut tells me Ronda and Charlotte aren't gonna do a whole lot with each other here since it makes sense for them to not give away too much before their 'Mania singles bout. Ronda's gonna get in there and produce some MMA-lite action with Sonya. And I'm sure Charlotte is gonna get into it with Naomi. In the end though, I can totally envision Naomi finally getting the big win over her menace here during this tag team encounter.

Preview & Predictions: The ladies of Raw are gonna get a chance to square off in the Elimination Chamber just like the fellas. But instead of this bout being contested for a championship, it's actually being put on for a championship opportunity at WrestleMania. And the title shot being fought over is for the Raw Women's Championship, which will obviously be kept on Becky Lynch once the "Show of Shows" finally comes around.

As I look at this match's lineup of competitors, here's how I envision it going down - Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. will kick things off and keep their feud going with an intense one-on-one skirmish. The next woman to enter the fray will be Doudrop, who'll aid Nikki in getting the upper hand on Ripley. Liv Morgan will exit her holding cell next and do her best to team up with Ripley against Doudrop and Nikki. Soon after Morgan's entrance into the match, Ripley will get rid of Nikki and further aid Morgan by helping her eliminate Doudrop.

Alexa Bliss will hit the ring next to mix it up with her two current foes. This three-way dance will eventually bring even more heartache to all those avid Morgan fans out there once Alexa eliminates their hero from the match (I can totally see this ordeal setting up a 'Mania match between the two, BTW!). Once Bianca Belair enters last, she'll be the one that gets rid of Ripley. And during the match's final moments, Belair will get the big win after she pins Bliss for the 1-2-3. Belair will finally get another chance at righting the wrongs committed against her at SummerSlam 2021 due to the actions of Becky Lynch.

Preview & Predictions: At this point, I don't bat an eye or send out an angry tweet whenever Goldberg waltzes right in to get an immediate title shot. WWE pays him the big bucks to be a special attraction, he only competes in marquee matches, and he still gets some love from a few old heads here & there. Most fans are sick and tired of the guy, which is understandable. But I'm actually looking forward to this clash (which was supposed to go down at WrestleMania 36!) based on Goldberg's better-than-expected performance at last year's Crown Jewel.

Now when I look at this match, horrible memories of Goldberg going over The Fiend for the Universal Championship at Super ShowDown 2020 come back to me. WWE really put the nail in Bray Wyatt's coffin with that shocking loss, didn't they? While I think the creatives at WWE are infuriatingly clueless most of the time, I don't think they're dumb enough to have Roman Reigns' epic title reign end at the hands of a part-timer. This won't go long, folks! And once the smoke clears, Roman's going to emerge as the ultimate survivor.

Preview & Predictions: WHAT A LINEUP! This year's Elimination Chamber match has most of Raw's heavy hitters all competing at the very same time. Now as I look at the full list of participants we have here, I feel like WWE's gonna let the up-and-comers kick things off first. This means Riddle and Austin Theory will lock up as soon as this match gets underway. Afterward, Seth Rollins will make his presence felt once he exits his cell.

Following Rollins will be AJ Styles, then after that will finally come Brock Lesnar. I feel like Brock's gonna go on a tear similar to Shayna Baszler's destruction of her opponents back at the 2020 Elimination Chamber. After Brock wipes everyone out, the WWE Champion will finally emerge from his cell and go to war with "The Beast" once again. When it appears that Bobby's title reign will end just as fast as it began, Roman will emerge out of nowhere and piss off Brock even more by costing him a championship victory once again. We're gonna get a replay of the finish we got between Bobby and Brock at the Royal Rumble here, people! Bobby's clearly keeping his second WWE Championship reign intact.
