We’re here to start trouble. Wait, let me clarify. We’re here to start trouble during March Madness. What trouble you might ask? Well, sneaker trouble. Specifically college sneaker trouble.
Since Selection Sunday is a mere three days away, I’m revisiting some of our favorite university-themed sneakers. Fun right? Think of this as something of a March sneaker bracket if you will. That said, this is our Elite 8.
The tried and true holy grail. The Off-White Jordan 1 Retro UNC’s. Honestly, we could do an entire separate article on UNC colorways. The argument of which UNC Jordans are the best will always be debatable, and we could go back and forth all day on the topic of what’s number one. Regardless of what you believe, this has to make any list.
There are tons of Georgetown colorways as well. We’re just picking the Dunks because we’re in a Dunks' mood.
It’s not just Ohio State University. It’s the Ohio State University, and these trainers are sick. It’s like a basketball shoe with the spirit of the Buckeye football team.
Kyrie went to Duke, and it should come as no surprise that he has multiple Duke colorways. All of them are sick, but this one right here—man.
You know we had to take it back to 2005 with this throwback. These still look and feel super current, and can fit right in with today’s sneaker culture.
As an Ohio State fan, it literally pains me to put these on here, but I guess it has to be done. For all of you Michigan fans, this one's for you.
Re-released in 2016 after Kris Jenkins’ wild championship-winning shot against UNC, these high tops were a simple black and gray colorway that can easily still be copped by Wildcats fans.
Who gets the last spot? Syracuse baby. The Dunk Low “Syracuse” went crazy, and the asking price for these bad boys is still pretty hefty starting at $642. Anytime a shoe can command rent money two years after its release—that’s a badddd shoe (Stephen A Smith) voice.
