The Five Best Sneakers Being Released This Weekend (And Monday)

Trying something different this week

Okay, so we’re going to try something a little bit different this week. Some of you have mentioned to me that it would be more helpful if I focused on upcoming sneakers as opposed to just ranking the weekly drops, so this time around, I’m going only to be ranking/reviewing weekend (and Monday) releases. Let’s face it, most of us don’t want to be reminded of our midweek losses and would much rather focus on our upcoming Ls (kidding). I’m still keeping the number at five for the time being because I love the challenge of narrowing them down. Let me know what you think. I’m open to suggestions.

1. Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "Patina"

Release Date: 3/13

Y’all called these ugly, so I better not see them sold out within seconds. In my honest opinion, this is not an ugly sneaker—these could be super hot depending on how they are styled. My only issue with this shoe is that I think it would have been better for the fall/winter. I’m not getting spring and summer vibes at all, but maybe it is just my personal fashion sense. The ‘Patinas’ have a ‘Light Army Brown’ splattered around the black upper, with a mint green heel, and the shoe is expected to have a separate pair of mint laces, which is perfect because I was thinking a white/lighter lace may be more flattering. I think this is a ‘Yes’ for sure.

2. Carpet Company x Nike SB Dunk High ‘Royal Pulse’

Release Date: 3/12

Talk about visually appealing. The 'Royal Pulses' are bad. I’m getting a cosmic feeling from this silhouette like you could randomly start floating mid-air once you put them on. The 'Pulses' feature white leather with blue overlays that can also be removed to showcase a yellow overlay. The shoe also sports Carpet Company’s star logo on the heel and is complemented with a rubber gum outsole. Fancy huh? Definite cop.

3. Adidas N3XT L3V3L Futurenatural “Solar Green”

Release Date: 3/15

This isn’t a shoe for those afraid of making daring fashion statements. This is for the risqué types. Well, maybe not, but this certainly isn’t one of your ‘standard sneakers.’ You are going to have to play around in your closet to find the right outfit that can match these. Dressed in a bright solar green color, the shoe features a knit upper and is accompanied by Lightstrike cushioning. The ‘Futurenatural’ also comes in an even brighter ‘Screaming Orange’ colorway, making the decision on which pair to get a tough one. I picked the green iteration for this list; which one are you picking?

4. Yeezy Boost 700 V2 “Cream”

Yeezy Boost 700 V2 “Cream” / GOAT

Release Date: 3/13

I was on the fence last week with the ‘450s,’ but these I could definitely get with. While not the most dynamic Yeezy release we’ve seen thus far, this is still a good springtime shoe. I’m feeling the neutral warm undertones and pastels, and I think some pretty versatile looks could be created with this version of the ‘700s.’

5. Nike Zoom Kobe 6 “All-Star”

Release Date: 3/15

You already know I had to save the best for last. Kobe. Mamba. One of the greatest to ever do it. Kobe always knew how to get the conversation going about whatever kicks he was rocking/releasing, and that still remains true to this day. The ‘6s’ are one of the most beloved sneakers in Kobe’s line, and they are the latest in Bean’s collection to get the Protro treatment. Dripped out, as usual, the ‘All-Stars’ are set to release on Monday via SNKRS and pays homage to the Western Conference All-Star jerseys (a jersey Kobe donned 18 times) through its red, black, and white colors. As usual, we can’t wait.

Honorable Mention: Fila Renno

I know the primary focus of this article was to spotlight the sneakers coming out over the weekend (and Monday), but these are absolutely fire.

After successful debuting the 'Renno' a few weeks ago as part of a collaboration with NY-based streetwear label KROST, FILA is back with seven new 'Renno' colorways for men and women. With plenty of color options to choose from including red, fiery blue, and silver gray amongst others, the latest iterations are a tribute to 70s sneaker culture. Recycled leather is incorporated into the design for the first time in history, and boosts FILA’s Energized® midsole cushioning for additional support.

ONE37pm's Charlie Kolbrener recently got his hands on a pair. Here is his review:

"The FILA Renno’s comfort is definitely its biggest strength. They’re certainly easy on the eyes, invoking a nostalgic chunky sneaker style, but they excel from a comfortability perspective. The big sole makes them a great option for long walks or strenuous days at the office."

So what did you guys think? Yay or Nay? I kind of like the idea of previewing the weekend releases, but again I'm open to suggestions! Feel free to keep up with my personal collection on Instagram and Twitter!
