Christmas is the time of collaborations, and Greenhouse, Foot Locker, Inc.’s multi-faceted incubator, just released an exclusive footwear and apparel collection with Louis De Guzman, the Chicago-based visual artist and designer, and New Balance. Through the curated lens of De Guzman, the collection blends his colorful geometric color-blocked motifs for a range of apparel and a reinterpreted version of the classic New Balance 574, while also mixing suede and leather materials that are color-blocked in De Guzman’s signature color palette.

When asked about the collection, Guzman had this to say:
“I am beyond honored to be joining New Balance in reimagining their iconic 574. This mixed media footwear piece draws inspiration from my personal color palette from my ongoing body of work entitled “In Between The Lines," which is a representation of raising self-awareness and confidence in oneself.
Being able to apply the body of work and subject matter towards the color blocking and tooling of the 574 has been a humbling process. Proving the fact that the journey is truly the best part of accomplishing our own goals and aspirations. I hope this footwear piece reminds those to keep going and to keep evolving. I am proud to present Louis De Guzman 574.”

In addition to the footwear, De Guzman has also designed a cut & sew collection of apparel inclusive of nylon shorts, nylon jogging pants, socks, t-shirt, and hooded sweatshirts, with retail prices set to range from $15 to $70.
The New Balance x Louis De Guzman collection will be available for purchase beginning Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 12:00pm ET exclusively on the Greenhouse app and will see a wider release online and in-store today at Foot Locker, FootAction and Champs Sports.
