AEW All Out 2022: Matches and Predictions
AEW All Out 2022 Predictions
Tomohiro Ishii vs. Eddie Kingston
Preview & Predictions: BANGER ALERT! Tomohiro Ishii and Eddie Kingston are tailor-made for each other - they're two hard-hitting, "Strong Style" connoisseurs who know how to sustain enough damage to survive long enough to put on a great match. The fact that this is a pre-show "Zero Hour" match that everyone will get to watch for free is a huge treat (THANK YOU, BASED KHAN!). I'm hedging all my bets on a Kingston victory here that'll get him back on track after coming out on the losing end of the Chris Jericho feud.
Pac (c) vs. Kip Sabian (AEW All-Atlantic Championship)
Preview & Predictions: The mysterious man in the box that can always be spotted in the crowd for an AEW show has been unveiled! Everyone and their mother already knew it was Kip Sabian, but it was pretty dope to see the crowd pop for his attack on the current AEW All-Atlantic Champion Pac. Pac's international title defenses have been great and I've enjoyed the slow-burn storyline that's seen Kip stalk Pac during those bouts. Now we're finally ready for both men to lock up and come to blows. It's gonna suck to see Kip lose in his very first comeback match, but them's the breaks! Pac is retaining the title here.
Hook (c) vs. Angelo Parker (FTW Championship)
Preview & Predictions: I've enjoyed the formerly known tag team called Ever-Rise so much since they've aligned themselves with Chris Jericho and the rest of the Jericho Appreciation Society. Now known as 2point0, Angelo Parker and Matt Menard have recently made it a habit of targeting the FTW Champion Hook. Parker's the one who's decided to step up to take a shot at the soft-spoken Hook, which will ultimately be seen as a huge mistake on Parker's part. Hook is gonna decimate Parker with little to no effort here, folks!
Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo (c) vs. Ortiz and Ruby Soho (AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship)
Preview & Predictions: So here's where we stand with this one, good people! The champs won the first match in this series, while the challengers got the win in the proceeding rematch. Now we're set up for the third and presumably final bout between the mixed match duos of Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo and Ortiz and Ruby Soho. While I would love to see the babyfaces shock the world and get their hands on AAA's World Mixed Tag Team titles, I just can't imagine it happening here. AEW's most hated couple are holding onto the Mexican promotion's mixed tag straps here.
The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson)) vs. "Hangman" Adam Page and The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds and John Silver) (AEW World Trios Championship)
Preview & Predictions: Since returning to active competition, Kenny Omega has slid right back into being one of the best highlights of AEW. And now that he's reformed his "Elite" six-man wrestling machine with The Young Bucks, Omega has found himself in another high-pressure situation that involves a PPV title bout. And to raise the stakes even higher, Omega and The Bucks' opponents include the Dark Order and former Elite stablemate "Hangman" Adam Page. It's pretty crazy to see Page end up on the opposite end of the ring across from Matt and Nick Jackson, who actually asked Page to be their third a few weeks back.
When it comes to my AEW All Out 2022 predictions, one thing's for certain in this six-man bout - it's going to be one of the finest performances of the evening. As for who I see prevailing here, I'm quite confident that Omega and The Bucks will walk out of this show as the first-ever AEW World Trios Championship. All roads have been pointing to that end result for the longest time now - that outcome will finally come to fruition here. I can't wait to see how the crowd reacts when Omega and Page end up in the ring facing each other!
Claudio Castagnoli vs. Wheeler Yuta vs. Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Rey Fénix vs. Rush vs. Andrade El Idolo vs. Dante Martin vs. ??? (Casino Ladder Match; Winner Receives a Future AEW World Championship Match)
Preview & Predictions: This match is stacked! You got the Lucha Brothers, La Faccion Ingobernable, two members of the Blackpool Combat Club, Dante Martin, and a yet-to-be-revealed "Joker" entrant. I'm expecting this match to be nothing but pure pandemonium. And that's what I'm paying good money to see here, especially since it's gonna involve lots and lots of ladders. You know what? I don't think any of the confirmed entrants for this match are going to emerge as the winner.
As a matter of fact, I think the mystery match entrant is going to be victorious. And who is that person, you might ask? The Ring of Honor TV Champion Samoa Joe! Since he's reportedly done filming his part as Sweet Tooth for the Twisted Metal TV show, it's high time that he makes his return to an AEW ring. I can definitely see my AEW All Out 2022 predictions coming to fruition for this major return here!
Jade Cargill (c) vs. Athena (AEW TBS Championship)
Preview & Predictions: So we all know Kris Statlander was being set up to compete in this match and hand Jade Cargill her first major loss here, right? Sadly, she went down with an injury once again. Thankfully, Athena has been by her side the entire time that Kris has been getting into it with Jade, Kiera Hogan, and Red Velvet. So it makes all the sense in the world for her to replace her bestie here. I'm sure Athena will be another one of those foes that'll get a good match out of the reigning, defending TBS Champion. But we all know the end result here - Jade's going to overcome her latest victim and rack up another PPV win and successful TBS title defense. My AEW All Out 2022 predictions point to this end result being the one I'm most confident in.
Wardlow and FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) vs. Jay Lethal and The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley)
Preview & Predictions: WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA! AEW hollered at Impact Wrestling for another favor and got the Motor City Machine Guns to pull up for this PPV? This match is now one of my most anticipated bouts on the entire show. I'm an old head that loved watching Kevin Nash participate in all those hilarious TNA X-Division skits with Jay Lethal, Chris Sabin, and Alex Shelley. So I have a very special connection to this trio getting to work their magic on the big AEW stage.
So FTR is gonna lock up with MCMG for the very first time, which is another blessing from the wrestling gods for 2022. And Wardlow is gonna square up with the man that's getting another TNT Championship opportunity. Since the big man known as Satnam Singh isn't here to slow the match pace down, this one's gonna be one hell of a fast-paced banger. My prediction for the winners here is going to be Wardlow and FTR. One of the FTR members is going to pin one of the MCMG members, which helps Lethal save face for his future title shot since he won't be pinned here.
Toni Storm vs. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs. Jamie Hayter vs. Hikaru Shida (Fatal Four-Way Match for the AEW Interim Women's World Championship)
Preview & Predictions: BREAKING NEWS, Y'ALL! Our current AEW Women's World Champion Thunder Rosa is injured and is unable to defend her title. So now we've arrived at a multi-women contest that'll be contended for the interim version of that same title (AEW sure do love their interim belts, huh?). To be quite honest with you all, I think this match change is much more preferred to the singles match we were supposed to get between Rosa and Toni Storm. They had a good match at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door, no doubt. But this Fatal Four-Way presents a more intriguing situation that I can't wait to see unfold.
So we got Storm here, plus Dr. Britt Baker (don't forget the D.MD.!), her backup Jamie Hayter, and the Joshi pro Hikaru Shida. I think we're in for quick the shock here, ladies and gentlemen. I know most folks think Storm is gonna emerge with the belt, but I predict that AEW is set to crown someone completely unexpected here. Hayter's the one who's leaving here with the interim women's title around her waist. And she'll end up pinning her best buddy Baker to do it! And then we'll finally get to see that relationship unfold as Hayter steps up to rule the division most fans want to see her dominate.
Ricky Starks vs. Powerhouse Hobbs
Preview & Predictions: "Absolute" Ricky Starks is one of those AEW stars who has all the potential in the world to do big things in the next year or so. And with feuds like this that allow him to deliver impassioned promos that pull me in every time he delivers them, his road to a major title run will have all the fans nodding in approval once it happens. Powerhouse Hobbs is another AEW talent with limitless potential that I can't wait to see fulfilled once the time is right. This grudge match should be a fine display of two wrestlers that can most certainly steal the show.
Hobbs clearly has the power and height advantage here, which will make Starks work that much harder to overcome his former Team Taz stablemate. For the majority of this match, Hobbs will dominate. But there's gonna be a moment here where he slips up and causes his own downfall as Starks finally gains the upper hand. The advantage between both men will swing like a pendulum soon after, but Starks will ultimately prevail over his larger foe with a well-placed Spear. My AEW All Out 2022 predictions are pointing towards Starks starting the run of a lifetime with a major PPV victory here.
House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews) vs. Miro, Darby Allin, and Sting
Preview & Predictions: The "Redeemer" has spoken! Miro has been on a warpath since getting misted in the face by Malakai Black back at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door. And due to the ongoing issues between the combination of Darby Allin & Sting and Brody King & Buddy Matthews, this feud has evolved into a six-man war. I'm of the belief that the "Stinger" will end up being the weak link here for once - at some point near the end of this match, the House of Black will take advantage of the "Stinger" as he's left to fend for himself while his teammates are laid out on the outside. Malakai will finally kick Sting's head off after weeks of staring the "Icon" down. With that predicted result, I can see Miro being inspired to go it alone in the proceeding weeks as he leaves Darby behind to take down Malakai's stable.
Christian Cage vs. Jungle Boy
Preview & Predictions: Heel Christian Cage is one of the best acts in any wrestling company it's being done in. It was amazing in WWF/E, TNA, and now in AEW. I had a sneaking suspicion that he was biding his time and waiting for the right opportunity to strike as soon as his money train in Jurassic Express as the tag champs fell off the tracks. And lo and behold, that's exactly what happened! So after all the verbal slandering of people's fathers, the talking down of random states' citizens, and the assault on Christian's arm, Mr. Cage and Jungle Boy will finally step into the ring to do battle.
I've been highly confused by all the stuff going on with Luchasaurus these past few weeks and some change, but I think his presence here won't cause much of a stir since he's seemingly been suspended for headbutting the shit out of Pat Buck. Christian and Jungle Boy are gonna have a damn good match here since you can never go wrong with either man in a high-stakes singles match. Due to all the horrible things Christian has done and said, I think it's only right that Jungle Boy prevails over him here as the ultimate babyface. For this bout, my AEW All Out 2022 predictions are noting a babyface win here.
Swerve In Our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland) (c) vs. The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) (AEW World Tag Team Championship)
Preview & Predictions: EVERYBODY LOVES THE ACCLAIMED! And dammit, I'm "everybody." All those Max Caster raps and Anthony Bowens' loud-ass proclamations about the state they're in for the night have turned me into a loyal follower of the self-proclaimed "best homegrown tag team" in the company. After beefing with The Ass Bo...excuse me, Gunn Club for a good while now, they've managed to rack up a big win against them and some other teams on their way to ranking in the top five of AEW's tag team division. They've now gained the attention of Swerve In Our Glory, which is why this title match has now become a reality.
At some point, Anthony Bowens and Max Caster are going to claim the AEW World Tag Team Championship. They're super over and have all the tools needed to enjoy a great reign at the top of the tag team division. But right now, it feels way too early to give them the straps. Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland's tag team title reign is just starting to hit its groove, which is why I'm predicting them to retain here. No need to worry, though - this loss will only push The Acclaimed to refocus and get back in the saddle to eventually claim the belts in the near future.
Chris Jericho vs. Bryan Danielson
Preview & Predictions: "Lionheart" Chris Jericho looked way better than I had hoped when he stepped into the ring with Jon Moxley a few weeks back. Since the "American Dragon" has challenged Jericho's first alter-ego to a match here, I'd really love to see Jericho revert back to his black and yellow gear once again. The heart of the story for this match revolves around both men fighting for the loyalty of Daniel Garcia. Bryan Danielson is vying for him to embrace his "wrestler" side, while Jericho is fighting for his stablemate to keep being the "sports entertainer" he's always wanted him to be.
I'm pulling for this match to be one of the best bouts of the night in these AEW All Out 2022 predictions of mine. I'm convinced that Bryan will bring the best out of Jericho and Jericho will do the same. Garcia's gonna run out during the closing moments of this match and finally make a decision as to who he really wants to be. I'm predicting Garcia to finally leave Jericho behind and screw him over here to help Danielson get the win. And from that point forward, Jericho will do everything in his power to make Garcia's life a living hell.
Jon Moxley (c) vs. CM Punk (AEW World Championship)
Preview & Predictions: The road to this match has been so weird to follow. I figured it would have made a ton of sense to just have both men deliver amazing face-to-face promos on the road to this PPV. Going the other way by dropping this match on Dynamite and going with a quick and shocking finish, then proceeding to set this match up with a CM Punk comeback promo a week later is certainly a choice. I'm sure the match itself will be amazing, but I just wish the booking for this major AEW World Championship match had a way better execution.
So here are my AEW All Out 2022 predictions in regards to this main event - both men are going to put on an incredible clash over AEW's top prize. But at some point, Punk is going to get desperate and abandon his babyface ways in order to prevail via his trusty hellish persona. The Chicago crowd will lose their minds as they watch their hometown hero get down and dirty to reclaim the AEW World Championship. We're getting a title change here with a heel turn to boot!
