"Live from New York!" It's All 35 Athletes Who Have Hosted SNL

There’s something very charming about watching the athletes who have hosted SNL that you don’t quite get from the actors or musicians who have hosted. Sure, athletes are in a way performers who spend their careers in front of the camera, but it's not often that you get to really see the personalities of athletes beyond their sporting abilities.

Since the show first aired in 1975, 35 athletes have braved the bright lights and hosted Saturday Night Live (there are a total of 33 SNL episodes that were hosted by athletes, because twice, a duo of athletes hosted). For some, it was a challenging venture into the entertainment world beyond sports. For others, it was yet another media gig on top of a resume of other hosting and broadcasting roles.
