Pickleball held one of its biggest events of the year over recent weeks with the 2022 US Open Pickleball Championships being played.

The event was held in Naples, Florida, with the tournament dating back to the first edition in 2016.

The best pickleball players from across the country met with 13 different categories in play.

Roughly 3,000 players competed at the Championships. The event was held at East Naples Community Park.

The venue is considered the largest pickleball facility in the world with over 64 courts available.

The tournament offers one of the biggest prizes in pickleball, with over $100,000 given out across all divisions.

Some of the biggest names in the sport competed over the course of a week in the hot, humid Florida conditions.

Here's a closer look at the results of the 2022 US Open Pickleball Championships.

US Open Pickleball Championships Winners

Ben Johns is one of the elite names in the sport and continued his dominance on the men's side of pickleball.

Johns and his brother, Colin, won the men's double competition and defeated Matt Wright and Riley Newman in the title match.

The Johns Brothers won 11-8, 11-9 to capture the crown.

Meanwhile, Johns continued his reign on the mixed doubles side with a victory alongside Simone Jardim.

The Brazilian-American is a former women's world number one in pickleball and she held that title for nearly four years.

The pair of Johns and Jardim captured the title after defeating Jessie Irvine and Tyler Loong by a score of 11-5, 11-2.

Top ranked women's players Catherine Parenteau and Lea Jansen earned this year's women's double title as well.

Parenteau and Jansen knocked off Irina Tereschenko and Andrea Koop, 11-1, 11-13, 11-5 in the hotly-contested final.

The headline event on the men's side featured Ben Johns and JW Johnson in the finale.

Johns captured the electric title match after losing the first set and battled back to win 5-11, 12-10, 11-7.

In women's singles, Parenteau emerged victorious by beating her doubles partner Jansen 11-4, 11-5.

Parenteau is currently the second-ranked female player in the sport
