Maharishi and Reebok are back again. Today, the London-based streetwear label Maharishi has announced their second collaborative project with sportswear giant Reebok: the Maharishi x Reebok LT Court Hemp. In this iteration, the two brands incorporate the beloved plant fabric that’s been a mainstay in Maharishi collections since the 1990s.

This is the second time Maharishi has linked with Reebok, building on their collab earlier this year. Founded in 1994 by Hardy Blechman, Maharishi is a streetwear label invokes a militaristic pragmatism, but imbued with a pacifism. So rather than the hawkishness of military technology, the label demonstrates the utilitarian capabilities of these materials and mechanics. The brand cheekily refers to the aesthetic as ‘pacifist military design,’ an ode to nature and the utility of these design practices.
“This is yet another great opportunity for us to delve into Reebok’s rich archive of classics,” commented Maharishi founder, Hardy Blechman.
The rendition of the classic Reebok model is comprised of an army green rubber outsole, chalk midsole, and an off-white hemp fabric upper. A personal favorite release of the year for me, the Maharishi’s LT Court Hemp provides an understated take on a 40-year-old court model with just enough textural flair to differentiate them from a general release model.
“Hemp belongs to one of Earth’s most versatile, resilient, and advanced plant families, which makes it particularly meaningful to us as a medium for product creation,” explained Blechman, referncing his brand's longstanding dedication to hemp fabrication and use of other organic materials.
Additional key design elements for the shoe include a soft suede heel tab and terry lining, Maharishi all-over logo arch bandage, Maharshi logo window box, and OG LT Court components like a deconstructed toe box and cup sole tooling.
“The LT court is a great court shoe from Reebok’s '80s archives. By utilizing hemp and a minimalistic design, the piece stays true to both Maharishi and classic Reebok styling," reflects Blechman.
The drop coincides with campaign imagery shot in Maharishi's Soho studio, featuring Shy FX, a legendary producer in the UK jungle music scene.
The Maharishi x Reebok LT Court Hemp ($120, GZ9587) is available in unisex sizing October 28 exclusively from Maharishi before a wider global release on November 7 from Reebok.com and select fashion retailers.
